Rather than relying on intended output length, this analysis uses the actual video duration (in seconds) associated with each job. Durations are grouped into practical ranges (seconds, minutes, hours) that reflect real editing workflows.
Data summary
Total jobs analyzed: 103,333
Key findings from VIDIO’s 2025 data
1. Short-form is the default on VIDIO
Videos under 60 seconds account for 85,333 jobs (82.6%).
Within that, 0–15s alone makes up 53,493 jobs (51.8%), meaning over half of VIDIO jobs are ultra-short clips.
2. Most jobs are under 3 minutes
Videos under 3 minutes total 96,152 jobs (93.1%).
This strongly suggests that VIDIO’s primary usage is optimized around short-form and mid-short content (social clips, ads, highlights, demos).
3. There’s a steep drop after 10 minutes
Videos longer than 10 minutes account for only 1,890 jobs (1.83%).
Long-form editing exists, but it’s clearly a minority workflow compared to short-form processing.
4. Hour-plus videos are rare
Videos longer than 1 hour account for 73 jobs (0.07%), and only 8 jobs (0.008%) exceed 2 hours.
These are likely specialized cases (e.g., extended recordings, events, or enterprise workloads).
What this means for creators and video platforms
VIDIO’s 2025 data shows that modern video editing workflows are overwhelmingly short-form. The vast majority of jobs are measured in seconds to a few minutes, not hours.
For product design and infrastructure, this suggests:
- Optimizing for fast turnaround and smooth UX for short clips delivers the most impact.
- Long-form support still matters, but it’s best treated as an advanced / specialized workflow.
All statistics in this report are based on anonymized internal VIDIO job data from 2025.
