How everything in VIDIO works, on every plan. Last updated October 23, 2026. Can't find something? Ask us.

Basics

What VIDIO does, adding files and finding your projects.

Getting started

#Open

VIDIO is a set of AI tools for creators: it edits your footage, helps you package and schedule YouTube uploads, and tracks how your channel and your rivals' channels perform. Everything lives in three areas in the left menu, Create, Publish and Analytics, with the Dashboard as the starting point.

The three areas

AreaWhat it's forWhere
CreateEditing. VibeEdit cuts long footage into a finished video; the other tools each do one job, such as blurring faces or removing a background.Tools, plus Files and Projects
PublishGetting a video ready for YouTube: titles, descriptions and tags from the AI metadata generator, an AI audit of its hook and click appeal, and scheduling the upload.Publish
AnalyticsLooking up any YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch or Spotify channel or video, an AI review of your own video, and tracking the channels and videos that matter to you.Explore, AI video review, Tracked

AskVIDIO is the assistant that sits across all three: describe what you want to do and it points you to the tool or page that does it. See AskVIDIO.

The editing tools

Tools are grouped the same way in the tool list and the New project window:

Picking a tool

  • You want a shorter or finished video from raw footage (highlights, a recap, a short): VibeEdit.
  • You need to hide something (faces, plates, screens and documents, a voice): the blurring tools or Voice Redaction.
  • You want to change what's in the shot (the background, an object): Video Background Changer, Auto Background Remover or Video Object Transformer.
  • The footage itself needs fixing (blurry, dark, shaky, low resolution, noisy sound): the Enhance tools.
  • Not sure? Click New project on the dashboard, search for the job (for example blur, noise or upscale), or click Describe your edit to ask AskVIDIO.

Each tool's section in this guide lists what it takes, what it costs, its free preview and its limits by plan.

How a project works

  1. Open a tool and add your footage: from your device, from files you uploaded before, or, in VibeEdit, from Google Drive, Dropbox or a YouTube link. See Adding files.
  2. Set the options the tool asks for, such as which faces to blur or what kind of video VibeEdit should make.
  3. Preview where the tool offers it. Many tools process part of the video for free so you can check the result.
  4. Pay and export. A window shows how many credits the full result costs before anything is charged. See How credits work.
  5. Download the result. Every project stays on your Projects page, where you can download it again. See Projects and downloads.

Your account

  • Sign in with Google. VIDIO accounts are created and opened with Log in with Google; there's no separate password. Your name and email come from that Google account.
  • Use a computer for editing. VIDIO works in the browser. Most tools also open on phones and tablets, but Video Background Changer and Auto Background Remover need a desktop or laptop and show Mobile devices are not supported on a phone.
  • The free plan (Free) needs no card. It includes 10 messages a month for the AI features, 3 projects a day, uploads up to 1 GB, one project processing at a time, free previews and exports with a small watermark, and tracking of 1 channel and 5 videos. Some features, such as best time to post and the full competitor lists, need a paid plan; their sections say which.
  • Paid plans (Pro, Business, Studio) add monthly credits, remove the watermark and raise the limits. See Plans compared.

Adding files

#

Every tool starts with an import window where you add your footage. It has up to five tabs: Local file, Shared drive, Uploaded file, Video output and YouTube. Which tabs work, and how many files you can add, depends on the tool.

Where you can import from

TabWhat it doesNotes
Local fileUpload from your computer: drag files onto the window or click Browse file.Subject to your plan's file size limit.
Uploaded fileReuse a file you uploaded before, without uploading it again. The same files as the Files page. Sign-in required.
Video outputUse a result from another project as the input.Lists outputs you've downloaded at least once.
Shared driveImport from a Google Drive or Dropbox shared link, file or folder.VibeEdit only. Connect the account first; see Connected accounts. No file size limit.
YouTubeImport a public YouTube video by its link.1 credit per link. Needs at least 1 credit.

Importing a YouTube link, step by step:

  1. Open the YouTube tab and paste the video's link.
  2. Click Validate. The video's thumbnail appears if the link works. Only single YouTube videos are accepted, not playlists, channels or other sites.
  3. Click Apply. 1 credit is charged now. If the video turns out to be private or restricted, the project stops with YouTube video download error and the credit isn't returned.

Without credits, the tab shows Credits are required to import a YouTube link and the link field is disabled.

File formats

  • Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, MPEG, MPG, WEBM and animated GIF.
  • Images, in tools that take them (such as VibeEdit): PNG, JPG and JPEG, plus HEIC, HEIF, WebP and AVIF, which are converted to JPEG in your browser before upload. A video-only tool rejects images with Unsupported file format.
  • Music for VibeEdit: MP3, M4A or WAV, up to 50 MB per file.
  • Publish and AI video review take MP4, MOV, M4V and WEBM.
  • MOV files must use a common codec such as H.264. Other codecs give Unsupported codec; convert the file and upload again.

File size limits

PlanLargest file
Free1 GB
Pro4 GB
Business8 GB
Studio16 GB
  • Per file. The limit applies to each file. Tools that take several files also cap the total of all files in one project.
  • Too big? You'll see File size is too big. Compress or trim the video, upgrade, or, in VibeEdit, import it through Shared drive, which has no size limit.

Length limits: upload versus run

A tool has two length limits, and it helps to know which one you hit:

  • The upload limit is the longest (and shortest) video the tool will accept at all. A video outside it is rejected straight away with Video is too short or too long., or Video is too long under your current plan. when a higher plan allows it.
  • The run limit is how much of that video one project processes. If your video is longer, a window asks you to pick the part to process, up to the run limit. Some tools allow longer runs on higher plans.

So a tool can accept a long video and still process only part of it per project. Each tool's section lists both limits by plan.

Daily and running limits

  • 3 projects a day on Free. Free accounts without credits can start 3 projects a day; every project started counts, whether it's still running, finished or waiting. A fourth shows Daily upload limit reached until the next day. Paid plans have no daily limit.
  • Projects at once. Free processes 1 project at a time, Pro 2, Business 5 and Studio 10. Starting one more shows Max running jobs reached.; wait for one to finish on the Projects page.

What happens after you click upload

  1. Uploading. The window shows Uploading ... N% complete. You can still Cancel here; cancelling stops the upload and may discard what was sent.
  2. Upload complete. Please wait. VIDIO reads the video's length and makes a thumbnail. Cancelling is disabled from this point.
  3. Loading ... VIDIO prepares the video: it makes a preview you can play in the browser and working copies, trimmed to the tool's limit. This can take a few minutes for large files.
  4. The tool's next step opens, such as choosing options or the part to process.

Your file is now on the Files page and can be reused in other tools through Uploaded file. Files are private to your account. See Your data and privacy.

Something went wrong? See Upload problems.

Projects and downloads

#Open

Every time you run a tool, VIDIO creates a project: your input, the settings you chose and the result. The Projects page lists them all, newest first; the Files page lists the files you've uploaded. Both are under Create in the left menu.

The Projects page

  • Each project shows its thumbnail, name (your new name if you renamed it, otherwise the file name, or Untitled), status, the date it was created and the tool used.
  • 10 projects per page. Use Previous and Next at the bottom; the line above them says Showing 1 to 10 of N results.
  • Statuses update on their own every few seconds while the page is open. Refresh at the top reloads the list.
  • No search or filters. Projects are always sorted by date. Renaming projects you'll want again makes them easier to find.

Publishing from a project

Finished projects with a video result show a Publish button on their row. It sends the result to your YouTube channel (the button shows Uploading N%, then Published). You need YouTube connected; see Connected accounts and Publish.

The project menu

Click ⋮ on a project for:

  • View Project: open the project in its tool to review it, adjust it or export again. It's not available while the project is waiting or preparing, after it was cancelled or halted, for Video Background Changer projects (open them from the tool itself), or for tools VIDIO has retired. A View Project button also appears on the row for projects you can open before they've finished.
  • Download Output: download the finished file. Only available once the status is Work done.
  • Cancel processing: stop a project that's in queue or in progress. Not possible while it's being prepared for download. See Processing problems.
  • Rename Project: give it a name you'll recognize.
  • Delete Project: remove it from your list. Not possible while it's queued, preparing or processing; cancel it first.
  • Go to tracked content: for published videos VIDIO tracks.

Downloads

  • Downloading again is free. Once a project's premium result is paid for, you can download it as many times as you like without using credits.
  • Links don't expire. A finished result stays downloadable from Download Output for as long as the project is in your list.
  • File name. Results download as your-file-name-vidio-output with the original extension, or vidio-output.mp4.
  • Email when it's ready. For paid exports, VIDIO can email you a download link. Turn it on or off with Email me when export is ready to download in Settings; see Email notifications.
  • Reuse a result as the input of another tool from the Video output tab of the import window. See Adding files.

The Files page

Files lists every file you've uploaded, 8 at a time (Load more shows the next ones), with its thumbnail, name, date and length.

  • Play a file to preview it.
  • Delete a file with the trash icon. This removes the file only; projects made from it stay on the Projects page.
  • Reuse a file in any tool from the Uploaded file tab of the import window, without uploading it again.

Deleting and how long things are kept

  • Projects and files are kept until you delete them. There's no automatic expiry on any plan.
  • Deleting can't be undone. Are you sure want to delete this project? asks you to confirm with Yes, I'm sure. A deleted project or file can't be restored to your list.
  • Deleting a project doesn't delete its uploaded file, and deleting a file doesn't delete its projects. Delete both if you want both gone.
  • Download first. Download any result you want to keep before you delete its project or your account.

Can't find a project?

  • Check the account. Projects belong to the Google account you signed in with. If you have more than one, sign in with the other.
  • Check the next pages. The list shows 10 per page, newest first.
  • AskVIDIO chats aren't listed as projects.
  • Still missing? Ask us, with roughly when you created it and which tool you used.

AskVIDIO

#

AskVIDIO is a chat assistant that knows VIDIO's tools, plans and pages. Use it when you know the result you want but not which tool or page gets you there. It points you to things; it doesn't edit videos or start projects for you.

Where to find it

  • The chat button in the bottom-right corner of the app's main pages: the Dashboard, the tool list, Files, Projects, Publish, Settings, and the Analytics, Channels and Tracked pages. Click it to open the chat, then use Expand chat for a bigger window or New chat to start over.
  • On the dashboard: Ask now in the AskVIDIO row.
  • In the New project window: Describe your edit, under the tool list.
  • At /ask-vidio, which opens the chat.

You need to be signed in. If you aren't, these links take you to sign-up first and bring you back.

What it can do

  • Recommend tools. Describe the job, for example "blur everyone's face except mine" or "make a 60-second highlight from my game footage". It answers with cards for the matching tools; click one to open it.
  • Find your way around. "Where do I schedule a YouTube video?" or "Where can I see my channel's views?" It points you to the Publish or Analytics page.
  • Explain plans and credits. What a plan includes, a tool's limits on your plan, or roughly how many credits a video of a given length needs. For billing changes or refunds it sends you to the right form instead.
  • Answer questions about a YouTube channel or video. Open the chat on a channel or video page in Analytics and ask about that page, for example "Why did views drop last week?" or "Which of my videos did best?" The answer is based on the numbers VIDIO has stored for that page.
  • Pass hard questions to the team. When it can't help, it may send your message to support and tell you so; the team replies by email if your case needs follow-up.

What it costs

QuestionCost
Which tool to use, how something works, plans and creditsFree
About a channel or video page's stats1 message, or 1 credit once your messages are used up
About how a channel or video page worksFree

On a stats page the chat says so above the input: Answers about this page's stats use 1 message (or 1 credit when messages run out). Questions about how the page works are free. If you have no messages or credits left, it tells you instead of answering. See How credits work.

Limits

  • 800 characters per message.
  • One conversation at a time. Your current chat comes back when you reopen it, even on another page. New chat clears it and starts fresh.
  • It can be wrong. It answers from what it knows about VIDIO, and plans and tools change. If an answer doesn't match what you see in the app, trust the app and this guide, or ask us.
  • It can't act on your account. It can't change your plan, cancel a subscription, refund credits, restart a project or see your projects' errors. For those, use Settings or contact support.

The dashboard

#Open

The dashboard is the first page you see after signing in, and Dashboard at the top of the left menu brings you back to it. It's a launch pad: one row of shortcuts per area, then a summary of what you use and what you track.

Quick actions

Under Welcome and your first name, What do you want to do? lists one row per area:

My projects opens the Projects page, with your projects, their statuses and downloads. It is also under Create in the left menu. See Projects and downloads.

The New project picker

New project opens Start a new project, the quickest way into a tool.

  • Two columns. On the left are the Tool categories, Cut, Transform and Enhance, each with a short description and its number of tools. On the right are the chosen category's tools.
  • Search (Search tools, e.g. blur, noise, upscale) looks through every tool's name, description and keywords, across all categories. Categories with no match are greyed out; if nothing matches you'll see No tool matches and your search.
  • Your tools shows shortcuts to the tools you've used most.
  • Start editing opens the tool straight away. Learn more shows what the tool does and costs; closing that brings you back to the picker with your search kept.
  • Describe your edit, at the bottom, opens AskVIDIO when you're not sure which tool fits.
  • On request. Some tools are only available on request: picking one opens Request tool access instead, where you say how you'll use it.

How the categories are organized is explained in Getting started.

Below the shortcuts

  • Track channels to make edits that perform. If you don't track any channel yet, this card's Track a channel button takes you to Channels to add one. See Tracking.
  • Your top tools. Up to three of your most-used tools, each with Used in N projects, and an All tools link. It's hidden until you've run a project.
  • Is this your channel? If one of your tracked channels has no tracking type yet, a banner asks about it, one channel per visit. Yes, it's mine sets its type to Self; the menu next to it picks another type, such as Competitor. Marking your own channels as Self makes the summary below focus on them.
  • Last 7 days. A summary across your tracked channels: Views gained, New subscribers & followers, Avg. channel health and how many channels are Gaining subscribers, plus a Views gained by channel chart. When you've marked channels as Self, it shows Your views gained, Your new subscribers and Your channel health, compares them with the channels you marked Competitor, and ranks your view growth among them. Until your channels have 7 days of daily numbers, it says Weekly changes appear once your channels have 7 days of snapshots.
  • Tracked channels and Tracked content. Your tracked channels and videos with their latest numbers and trends; each heading links to the full list. See Tracking.

These sections only appear once you track something. A new account sees the quick actions and the tracking card.

Editing tools

VibeEdit and every AI editing tool: how to use it, what it costs, its limits.

VibeEdit, the AI editor

#Open

VibeEdit is VIDIO's AI video editor. You add raw videos and photos, say in plain words what you want, and it watches the footage, picks the best moments, trims and orders them, and adds music, text and other finishing touches. Afterwards you keep refining it by chat (Refining by chat) or by hand in the editor, and export when it's right (Exporting VibeEdit results).

What it can do

  • Find and cut the best moments across all your clips, cutting at sentence and scene boundaries so motion isn't cut off.
  • Remove dead air: silences, pauses and filler words in talking footage, repeated takes (only the best take of a restarted line is kept) and near-identical clips.
  • Fit a length and a shape: a target duration, and aspect ratios for each platform, keeping people in frame when the shape changes.
  • Sports highlights for a whole match, one team (by jersey color) or one player (picked with a box and/or jersey number).
  • Story and order: your upload order, by date and time shot, alternating between files, or a story order you describe.
  • Text: captions (plain, word-by-word highlighted or bouncy), automatic on-screen text, exact text you supply (product names timed to when they appear), opening and closing title cards, and animated text cards, mostly for high-energy videos.
  • Music: a track chosen to fit, or your own (up to 10 per project), cut to the beat if you ask, with the original sound balanced under it.
  • B-roll: your own supporting clips placed in context, or a matching image found for each moment of speech (copyright-free photos by default, web images on request).
  • Voice: a generated voice-over (written for you or read from your script), and dubbing the speech into another language, one language per run.
  • Photos to video: each photo held 1.5 to 5 seconds by importance (or a length you set), with a slow pan and zoom.
  • Speed and looks: whole-edit speed-ups, time-lapse up to 16x and slow motion down to 0.25x; color filters; transitions (crossfade, crosszoom, luma wipe, glitch); emoji stickers on key moments.
  • Several results: up to 5 variations of one request, or several standalone shorts cut from a long talk or podcast.

What it can't do

  • Freeze-frames, or rings, spotlights, arrows or boxes drawn on a player. (Object Tracking can mark one object in a clip.)
  • Change what's in the footage: remove or replace text burned into it (names, scoreboards, watermarks), add realistic effects (fire, sky replacement, new objects), or generate scenes, characters or footage that wasn't filmed.
  • Zoom or crop into part of a video clip: video is cropped only to fit another aspect ratio; only photos pan and zoom.
  • Slow motion on some moments only: speed applies to the whole edit.
  • Start music partway through a song, or give variations different lengths or music.
  • Stabilize shaky footage (use Video Stabilizer before uploading), or overlay a logo in a corner (a logo can open or close the video as its own short scene).
  • Export subtitle files or a list of moments. Captions are part of the video; see Exporting VibeEdit results.

When you ask for one of these, VibeEdit says it can't be done rather than pretending it did. Baseball, cricket, rugby and lacrosse are scored with general sports rules rather than rules for that sport, and futsal is treated as soccer.

How to make an edit

  1. Describe the video. Open VibeEdit. Under "What should we edit next?", type into Describe how you would like to edit, or start from a preset such as Soccer player highlight or Event photos to video. Send it. VibeEdit checks the request against what it supports, your plan and your files, and replies with what it will do.
  2. Add footage in the Media composer. Click Media composer. Under Video / Image, use Add files (device, Google Drive, Dropbox or a link; see Uploading files), or Search media on the web. Videos can be MP4, MOV, MKV, MPEG or WebM; photos PNG, JPG or GIF. Under Music, add your own tracks.
  3. Arrange, if you want to. Drag files into order, or Sort by name, creation time or original order. Trim a video to the part you want considered. Use Move to B-roll for supporting shots that should be cut away to, not narrated in order (A-rolls are the main story). Duration filter leaves out clips outside a length range; Image duration sets how long photos stay (Auto by default). Click Next.
  4. Check the Input requirements panel. It shows your plan and meters for Videos, Photos, Per video and Total length against your limits, plus checks: at least one main visual (1+ main visual), every clip at least 2 seconds (Clips ≥ 2s), Files readable, and YouTube import (paid plans only). A red meter says what to do (Remove N, Trim or remove, Add footage) and, where it helps, which plan would fit. A file that can't be read ("Can't read this file") usually means the upload was cut off; delete it and upload again.
  5. Pick a player (player highlights only, Business and Studio). On Free and Pro the step shows Upgrade required and running it opens an upgrade window. In Select player, pause on a frame and Draw a box around the whole player (head, hands and feet), and/or Pick by number with the Jersey number and an optional Jersey colour. A box and a number together match best; one pick is used for every video. Mark the player on 3 or more frames, choosing frames where they are sharp.
  6. Run it. Click Run task. See "The first run" below.

Editing modes and credits

You don't pick a mode; VibeEdit chooses it from your request, and the credits dialog shows the amount before you pay. Credits are charged once per project, at the first Premium export, HD export or XML download, for the total length of your videos (after any trims in the Media composer). Runs, reruns and the free watermarked export cost nothing.

The first run

  • It's the slow step. The first run watches all your footage: preparing files, finding key moments, grouping scenes, selecting clips, refining cuts, ordering, and adding music, text and b-roll. The chat shows each stage. Long footage can take 20 to 40 minutes or more.
  • You can leave. "This may take some time to process. We'll notify you by email once it's ready." The project waits in Projects and under Past projects on the VibeEdit page.
  • The result opens in the editor next to the chat, with "The processing is done. Use Preview to play your video, adjust clips on the timeline, and export it." A run usually gives up to 3 outputs (fewer when there are few strong moments); the first is usually the best. Pick one from the editor's output list.
  • After the first run, the footage is fixed. "Any changes to this step are disabled after the first run." To use other files, start a new task from VibeEdit. Settings, text, music, length and which moments are kept can still change: see Refining by chat.
  • Later runs are faster. They reuse the analysis of your footage, unless the change needs it watched again (a different player or team, for example).
  • Edit by hand. In the editor, Adjust cuts lets you select and deselect clips, trim a clip, reorder clips and cards, and fix caption and card text. Manual edits are free.

Get a better result

  • Say what to keep and what to skip. "Goals and saves only" or "skip the speeches" steers the edit far more than "make it exciting".
  • Give a length and a platform: "45 seconds, vertical, for Instagram Reels".
  • Name things the way they look: "the player in number 10, white shirts", "the bride", "the blue serum bottle".
  • Put exact on-screen words in quotes. They're used character for character, even if they look misspelled.
  • Mention a story order when it matters: "start with getting ready, end with the first dance".

If something goes wrong

  • "Media assets required for this task." Open Media composer and follow the red items in the requirements panel.
  • "Your current inputs exceed the duration limit for your plan." Trim long videos in the Media composer, remove some, or move to a plan that fits (the panel names it).
  • "Some input video durations are still loading." Wait for every file to finish loading, then click Refresh in the panel.
  • The edit is shorter than you asked. There weren't enough strong moments, or in player mode the player wasn't on screen long enough; the run notes in the chat say why.
  • The wrong player was followed. Pick them again with a tighter box on clearer frames plus the jersey number, then rerun (this analyzes the footage again and costs credits; see Refining by chat).
  • "This task is halted." Check that your files aren't damaged and try again; see Processing problems or ask us.

Refining VibeEdit by chat

#Open

After the first run, you keep working on the edit by writing to VibeEdit in the same chat, like you would to a human editor. Some changes are applied to the finished videos straight away; others need a rerun, which you start yourself with Run task. You can also make changes by hand in the editor at any time.

What a message costs

  • Each message uses 1 free message, then 1 credit once the free ones run out. The note under the message box shows how many free messages you have left and when they refill.
  • You get 10 free messages, on every plan. They refill to 10 (they don't add up) 30 days after the last refill.
  • With no free messages and no credits, sending is blocked with Message Limit Reached. Add credits, or wait for the refill. See Credits.
  • Runs and reruns themselves are free, except the mode changes below. The project is paid once, at the first premium export (Exporting VibeEdit results).

Changes applied right away

These change the existing videos without re-editing them. You'll see "Applied to your video" with Undo.

  • Music and sound: another track (VibeEdit picks one that fits), music, original sound or dub volume, music fades, one clip's sound.
  • Look: color filter, transitions (all of them or one clip's), beat sync on or off, the pauses level.
  • Captions: on or off, style, position (lower, middle, upper), and fixing words.
  • Text and cards: editing or removing a text card, its words, colors, font, size or case; the opening and closing title cards and titles at a time or on a clip ("a title at 0:42", "a name tag on clip 3").
  • Clips: trimming a clip, more room before or after a clip, photo lengths, clip categories (on, off or only).
  • Overlays: adding emojis, or removing emojis, text or b-roll.
  • Picking a version, making the video shorter, and undo or redo.

If a run is in progress, you're offered Cancel current run and apply change.

Changes that need a rerun

The reply describes what will change and ends by asking you to press Run task. Nothing re-edits until you do.

  • Output length and aspect ratio.
  • Which moments to keep or leave out ("only punches that land", "skip the speeches"), and including given clips or times ("use Ceremony.mp4 from 1:20 to 1:45").
  • Story order, jump-cut versus a single continuous moment (Spotlight, for one input video).
  • Automatic text overlays, exact product names timed to when they appear, and animated text cards.
  • B-roll images, including covering the whole video with them.
  • A different player, team or team color in sports footage (pick the player with Select player under the reply first).

A rerun replaces the current outputs. Before it runs you're asked "Replace current outputs?"; export anything you want to keep, then click Replace and run.

The dialog spells out the sum, for example "This change costs N more credits" with the new rate per second, your seconds of video and what you've already paid, then Pay N credits and run. If you're short, it shows Not enough credits with your Credit balance and Credits needed, and Buy credits or Maybe later. If a charge fails, nothing runs ("We couldn't charge the credits, so nothing was run.").

Don't ask me again skips this dialog in this browser only; changes that cost credits are then charged automatically, except that a shortage still shows the dialog.

What VibeEdit refuses

It says plainly that these can't be done, and won't claim to have done them on a later message:

  • freeze-frames, and spotlights, rings, arrows or boxes drawn on a player;
  • replacing or removing text that's part of the footage (names, numbers, watermarks, scoreboards);
  • realistic effects or new objects in the scene, frame-by-frame or hand-drawn animation, or footage of things that weren't filmed;
  • zooming into part of a video clip, slow motion on only some moments, music starting partway into a song, and variations with different lengths or music;
  • stabilizing shaky footage, and keeping text off faces;
  • swapping the project's footage after the first run: start a new task from VibeEdit instead. Searching the web for new footage from the chat is also off once outputs exist.

When something is only partly possible, the reply says which part can't be done yet. See VibeEdit, the AI editor for the full list.

Writing good follow-ups

  • One change per message makes it clear what each rerun did, and keeps each change to one free message.
  • Point at things precisely: a time ("at 0:42"), a clip number, a card's words, or an output number.
  • Quote exact text. Words in quotes are kept character for character.
  • Ask why. "Why is it only 40 seconds?" gets an answer from the notes the editor left on the run; if no reason was recorded, it says so.
  • Do it by hand when it's quicker. In the editor, Adjust cuts selects and deselects clips, trims, reorders and fixes text, without using a message.

If something goes wrong

  • The reply says it's done but nothing changed. Changes that need a rerun wait for Run task. Press it under the reply.
  • "Couldn't update the video. Please try again." An instant change failed to apply; send it again or make it by hand in the editor.
  • "Message Limit Reached." You're out of free messages and credits; see above.
  • A rerun dropped something you liked. Reruns apply your updated settings to every output. Use Undo for instant changes; for reruns, export first next time.
  • The chat stops responding or shows "Something went wrong". Reload the page; the project and its messages are saved. If it persists, ask us.

Exporting VibeEdit results

#Open

When an edit looks right, export it from the editor. You can take a free watermarked copy at any time, pay once for full-quality video, or download the edit as an XML timeline that rebuilds the cuts from your own files in a desktop editor.

Export options

Click Export at the top of the editor. It exports the output currently selected.

OptionWhat you getWho can use itCost
Free preview exportThe whole edit at 720p with a small VIDIO mark in the bottom-right corner.EveryoneFree
Premium exportThe whole edit at up to 1080p, no watermark.Anyone with creditsThe project's charge, once

Download XML (Premiere Pro)A timeline file, see below.Anyone with creditsThe project's charge, once
  • The project's charge is the total length of your videos times the editing mode's rate, worked out in VibeEdit, the AI editor. The dialog shows "N credits will be used", your balance and the amount; Okay charges, Cancel doesn't.
  • Paid once, then free. After a project is paid (at export, or by a rerun that re-analyzed the footage), every later premium, 4K or XML export of it is free, including after more chat changes or reruns.
  • The button shows progress while the file renders ("Downloading... (N%)", then "Please wait (N%)"). Long edits can take a while; you can leave and pick the file up from Projects.
  • The file is an MP4 named vidio-output.mp4.

Media from the web

If the edit uses YouTube videos or b-roll images found on the web, export first asks you to confirm rights. Confirm web image rights explains that VIDIO doesn't own or grant rights to that media and that you're responsible for having permission. To check sources first, open the output with Adjust cuts and click the right arrow on each b-roll item to see where it came from. Tick the box and click Proceed. You're asked once per project.

Subtitles

  • Captions are burned into the video. VibeEdit doesn't produce a separate SRT or other subtitle file, and there's no transcript download.
  • To change caption words, edit them in the editor or ask in the chat before exporting.

XML timeline

Download XML (Premiere Pro) saves vidio-output.xml, a Final Cut Pro 7 style XML (the format Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve import). It points to your original files instead of containing video.

What comes across:

  • Every clip and photo, cut to length and in order, on one video track. Photos are still frames.
  • Each clip's own sound, linked to its video, on the first audio track.
  • The music on a second audio track, starting at the right point of the song, with its volume and the dips under speech as Audio Levels keyframes.
  • A Description marker on each clip with VibeEdit's short note on what happens in it, when there is one.
  • Sequence settings matching the edit's frame rate and shape, sized to 1080p (for example 1920x1080 or 1080x1920).

What doesn't:

  • Captions, text, title cards, emoji, transitions, color filters, speed changes and reframing are made by VIDIO's renderer and aren't rebuilt in your editor. They may show up as empty or offline items you can delete.
  • Web b-roll images have no file on your computer and stay offline.
  • The media itself. You need your original files, with the same file names as when you uploaded them, and the music file if you want the track.

Importing into Premiere Pro

  1. Collect your files. Put the original videos and photos you uploaded to VibeEdit in one folder, ideally with the XML.
  2. Import. In Premiere Pro, choose File → Import, select vidio-output.xml and confirm. A new sequence appears in the Project panel; double-click it.
  3. Relink. The clips open offline because the XML refers to them by file name only. In the Link Media dialog, select a clip, click Locate, find the matching file and confirm; keep Relink others automatically on so the rest link from the same folder.
  4. Check the sequence settings. If timing looks off, right-click the sequence, open Sequence Settings and make sure the frame rate matches your footage.

Importing into other editors

  • DaVinci Resolve: File → Import → Timeline…, choose the XML, and point Resolve to the folder with your files when asked (or relink offline clips from the Media Pool).
  • Final Cut Pro (10 and later) uses a different XML format and doesn't open this file directly. Import it into Premiere Pro or Resolve, or convert it with a third-party tool.

  • HD export isn't listed. None of your videos is 4K. VibeEdit doesn't upscale on export; run Video Upscaler first if you need a sharper source.
  • HD export is greyed out. It needs Business or Studio; see Plans. If you uploaded 4K footage before moving to Business, re-upload it to export in its original resolution.
  • "Export failed. Please try again." The project couldn't be saved before export. Wait a moment and export again; if it repeats, reload the page.
  • Premiere says media is offline or can't be found. Check that the file names and extensions match what you uploaded (renamed or converted files won't match), then relink as above.
  • Clips are the wrong length in Premiere. The sequence frame rate doesn't match the footage. Fix it in Sequence Settings.
  • The download never finishes. See Download problems, or ask us.

Previews and exports

#

Every single-purpose editing tool (blurring, tracking, background, enhance and audio tools) works the same way: you pick a range, the start of it is processed for free so you can judge the result, and you pay only when you want the whole range without a watermark. This section explains that flow once, so each tool's section only lists what is different. VibeEdit is billed differently; see Exporting VibeEdit results.

The flow

  1. Import. On the tool's page, click Import and add one video from your device, Google Drive, Dropbox or a link. Size and format rules are in Uploading files.
  2. Select the range. A Select the video range window opens. Drag the blue handles to choose the part to process and click Apply. The window states the longest range your plan allows, the shortest allowed, and, when the range is longer than the free preview, "First N-second preview will be shown and downloadable for free." Only the selected range is processed and charged.
  3. Wait for the free preview. The tool processes the first part of the range (the length differs by tool, see the table below). You can close the page; the project keeps running and stays in Projects.
  4. Check the result. Compare with your source: most tools have an Original switch above the player, some show the original and the result side by side. On the timeline, a striped band marks the part that has been processed so far.
  5. Process the rest. For a range longer than the preview, click the tool's Finish … button (for example Finish blurring), or play or click past the striped band. The credits dialog opens before anything is charged.
  6. Export. Open the Export menu and pick a version. Finished files are also kept with the project in Projects.

Export options

Free preview exportThe processed preview at low resolution (720p for most tools), with a small VIDIO mark in the bottom-right corner.Free
Premium exportThe whole range at full quality (up to 1080p for most tools), no watermark. The menu shows the exact size, for example (1920x1080).Credits, once per project
HD export4K, no watermark. Listed only when your source video is 4K (3840 pixels on its long side) and usable only on Business and Studio.Same credits as Premium; paying for one covers both
  • Premium export is greyed out until the whole range has been processed. Finish processing first (step 5).
  • Free preview export is greyed out until the preview has finished.
  • The free mark is a small square tile placed in the bottom-right corner, sized to the frame. It isn't removed later; export again as Premium for a clean file.

When credits are charged

  • Only after you confirm. The dialog shows the title "N credits will be used", your Credit balance (with a refresh button) and Credits required. Okay charges and starts; Cancel changes nothing.
  • Once per project. "After credits are applied to this project, you can make unlimited premium downloads without using more credits." That includes HD export and exporting again after changing styles.
  • How the amount is worked out: the length of the selected range in whole seconds (at least 1 second) times the tool's rate. A 90-second range in a 0.2 credit/second tool is 18 credits. Each tool's rate is in its section and on the pricing page.
  • Not enough credits. The dialog switches to Not enough credits with Maybe later and Buy credits. See Credits for ways to top up.
  • Which limits you get. Pro, Business and Studio subscribers get paid-plan limits. So does any account that holds credits, for example after buying a credit pack on the Free plan; it counts as Pro for range lengths and file sizes.
  • A failed run after you paid is refunded automatically to your monthly credits within about a minute. See Refunds.

If something goes wrong

  • The HD export line isn't there. Your source isn't 4K. VIDIO doesn't upscale to 4K on export; use Video Upscaler for that.
  • HD export is greyed out. It needs Business or Studio. See Plans.
  • I paid but the download shows a watermark. You picked Free preview export. Open Export again and choose Premium export; it won't charge a second time.

Interactive Background Changer

#Open

Interactive Background Changer is a click-to-mask (rotoscoping) tool. You click on what you want to keep, VIDIO carries that mask through every frame, and then you decide what happens behind it: transparent, a new image, a solid color, blur, grayscale or darkened. Use it when you need control over exactly what is cut out. If you only want the background gone with no clicking, try Auto Background Remover first.

What it does and doesn't do

  • You define the subject. Nothing is cut out until you click on it, so it works on objects, animals and products as well as people.
  • Short clips. Up to 30 seconds per run on paid plans, 5 seconds on Free.
  • A timed session. Once your clip is loaded, the page stays usable for a limited time, shown as "closes in" with the remaining time in the top bar. When it runs out, the session closes ("Timeout").
  • No generated backgrounds. You can use an image, but not create one from a description.
  • Fine detail is hard. Hair, smoke, glass, thin and many-edged objects may not separate cleanly.

How to use it

  1. Import and pick a range. Open Interactive Background Changer (signed in), click Import and choose up to 30 seconds (5 on Free, at least 0.5 seconds) in Select the video range. Uploads can be up to 40 minutes long. If the page shows "We are setting up for your job", it's waiting for a free processing server and starts by itself; Just Exit leaves it running.
  2. Mask the subject. With the switch on Mask, click inside the person or object you want to keep. Masked areas turn light blue. Click again on parts that were missed; you can click up to 15 times on one frame ("Max Clicks Reached.").
  3. Remove extra areas. Move the switch to Unmask and click areas that shouldn't be kept. Switch back and forth as needed. Turn on Magnifier and hover over the video to see edges up close. Undo removes the last click; Reset clears all masks and any new background, after a confirmation.
  4. Propagate. When the frame looks right, click Propagate maskings. The mask is carried through the whole clip; a progress bar shows how far it has got. The button works only when the current frame has a mask.
  5. Fix drift. Scrub through. If the mask slips on a later frame, go there, correct it with Mask and Unmask, and propagate again.
  6. Choose the effect. The post-propagation options (below) become active. Changing the background or subject needs the original background on screen while you mask; if you mask again after applying one, you're asked to revert first.
  7. Export. Click Export and pick a version in the Download window. See "Export choices" below.

Options

Accounts on the Free plan that hold at least 10 credits get 1 minute of session per credit, up to about an hour.

Accuracy

  • A subject that stands out from its background masks most accurately. People are usually the easiest.
  • Motion blur, heavy compression and low light blur the edges the mask relies on.
  • Fast or large changes (the subject turning around, something passing in front) are where propagation drifts; correct a frame there and propagate again.
  • Soft or blurry source? Run it through Video Sharpener or Video Upscaler first.

If something goes wrong

  • "Click foreground object to mask." You tried an action before masking anything. Click inside the subject first.
  • The options are greyed out. They unlock after Propagate maskings.
  • "Revert to the original background first." Masking needs the original background on screen. Click Revert (any feather is removed and must be added again).
  • "Timeout". The session time ran out. Start the tool again with your video, and finish within the timer. Paid plans get about an hour.
  • The exported .mov won't play on Windows. ProRes needs a player that supports it, such as VLC, or open it in your video editor.
  • Stuck or halted. See Processing problems, and ask us if you were charged for a download that failed.

Auto Background Remover

#Open

Auto Background Remover finds the main subject in your video, usually a person, and removes everything behind it. You get back a video with a transparent background to place over anything you like in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or another editor that supports transparency. There's nothing to click or set.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Fully automatic. The tool decides what the subject is. You can't choose or correct it; for that, use Interactive Background Changer.
  • Always transparent. The result has no background at all. To put in a color, blur or image instead, use your editor or Interactive Background Changer.
  • Best with one clear subject in front of a background that looks different from it: a presenter, a dancer, a product on a table.
  • Longer runs than the interactive tool: up to 5 minutes per run, from uploads up to 40 minutes.
  • Sound is kept in the exported file.

How to use it

  1. Import. Open Auto Background Remover (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 5 minutes on a paid plan, 30 seconds on Free, at least 0.5 seconds. Removal starts right after.
  3. Check the free preview. The first 10 seconds are processed for free. Compare the Original and Background removed views, paying attention to hair, hands, fast movement and the edges of the frame.
  4. Finish. For a range longer than 10 seconds, click Finish background removal. The credits dialog shows the amount; Okay charges and processes the rest. You can leave; the project stays in Projects.
  5. Export. Open Export and choose Premium export for the full range. See Previews and exports.

Options

None. There are no edge, threshold or subject settings; the only choice is the range.

Cost

  • 0.2 credits per second of the selected range: 12 credits a minute, 60 credits for 5 minutes, counted in whole seconds.
  • The first 10 seconds are free. You pay once per project, at Finish background removal or the first Premium export. See Credits.

Output

  • Premium export: an Apple ProRes 4444 .mov with a transparent (alpha) background, up to 1080p, with the original sound. ProRes is the format that keeps transparency in editors; the files are much larger than an MP4 of the same clip, which is normal.
  • Free preview export: the processed preview as a smaller transparent .mov, 1280 pixels on its long side.
  • No 4K. For 4K sources the menu lists HD export, but it can't be selected for this tool.

Accuracy

  • Contrast matters most. A subject lit separately from the background, in clearly different colors, gives clean edges. Similar colors (a white shirt on a white wall) leave holes or halos.
  • Hair, fingers and fast movement are where edges get soft or flicker.
  • Several people, or a person holding an object, may be treated as one subject or partly cut. Check those frames in the preview.
  • Busy backgrounds (crowds, foliage, screens) can leave patches behind.

If something goes wrong

  • The file won't play on Windows or on a phone. ProRes needs a player that supports it, such as VLC, or import it straight into your editor. In the editor, put it on a track above your new background.
  • Parts of the background remain, or the subject has holes. Switch to Interactive Background Changer (up to 30 seconds per run), where you click to fix the mask.
  • Premium export is greyed out. Click Finish background removal first.
  • The source is soft or low resolution. Run Video Upscaler or Video Sharpener first; cleaner edges separate better.
  • Stuck or halted. See Processing problems, and ask us if you were charged for a run that failed.

Video Object Transformer

Pro plan and up#Open

Video Object Transformer edits a short clip from a written instruction, such as "Remove the red car in the background". The AI turns your instruction into a short list of editing requirements, you check the list, and then it makes a new version of the clip with the change. Use it to take a stray object or passer-by out of a shot, recolor or swap an item, or draw attention to one thing.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Short clips only. Each run covers up to 10 seconds, so pick the exact moment that needs the change.
  • The AI remakes the clip. The result is a newly generated version of your whole 10-second range, not a patch over one spot. Check the parts you didn't ask to change as well.
  • No logos or brand names. Removing or changing logos and brand names isn't supported.
  • No free preview. You're charged when you apply, before the result exists, and every apply is charged again.
  • One result per project at a time. Applying a new edit replaces the previous result.

How to use it

  1. Import. Open Video Object Transformer (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, choose up to 10 seconds (at least 0.2 seconds) and click Apply.
  3. Describe the edit. The Describe your object edit window opens (reopen it later with Edit with AI above the player). Under Editing instruction, say which object and what should happen to it, then click Send.
  4. Review the requirements. Under Editing requirements the AI lists what it will do. All items are ticked; untick any you don't want, or click Back to reword the instruction. Review requirements takes you forward again without resending.
  5. Check the cost and accept. The window shows "Estimated cost: N credits". Tick I understand and accept this risk. and click Apply. The credits are charged and processing starts.
  6. Compare. When it's done, use the Original / Processed switch above the player.
  7. Download. Open Export and choose Premium export: the edited clip without a watermark. Download it before applying another edit, or it's gone ("An output already exists. Download it before applying again—your previous output will disappear.").

Write instructions that work

  • Name the object and where it is: "the red car in the background", "the blue mug on the left of the desk".
  • Say what should happen: remove it, change it to something specific ("to a white mug"), or highlight it.
  • One object per instruction. For two changes, apply twice (paying each time) or make two projects.
  • Describe it when there are look-alikes: color, size, what it's next to.
  • Prefer steady, short shots. Fast camera moves and objects that leave the frame are harder to edit cleanly.

Options

  • AI can make mistakes. It may change the wrong object, leave traces of a removed one, or alter details nearby. That's why you review the requirements and the result before downloading.
  • Faces, text and fine textures around the edited area can come out slightly different from the original.

  • The run failed after charging. The credits for that Apply go back to your monthly credits automatically. See Refunds.

AI Face Blurring

#Open

AI Face Blurring finds the faces in your video, follows each one as it moves, and covers it with a blur, pixel blocks or an emoji. Use it for interviews with bystanders, street and event footage, classroom or bodycam video, or anything you publish with people who didn't agree to be shown.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Faces only. It covers faces, not whole bodies, name tags, voices or text. Pair it with AI Privacy Blur for text on screen and Voice Redaction for what people say.
  • You choose whose face, on clips up to 2 minutes. For a range of 2 minutes or less you get a list of the faces found and tick the ones to hide. For a longer range, every face found is covered; you can still remove covers afterwards.
  • Not every match is a face. The detector can pick up posters, screens, statues or patterns. The face list warns about this; leave those unticked.
  • Covers follow the face. Detected covers move with each face from frame to frame. Covers you add by hand stay where you put them for the time you set.
  • Picture only. The sound and the timing of the video are not changed.

How to use it

  1. Import. Open AI Face Blurring (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 10 minutes on a paid plan, 2 minutes on Free, at least 1 second. If the range is over 2 minutes the window says "For videos longer than 2 minutes, it will blur all detected faces and require credits to process"; shorten it if you want to pick faces.
  3. Wait for detection. Finding faces takes a few minutes, longer for long videos with many people. You can leave the page; the project stays in Projects. If nothing is found you'll see "No faces were found in the video. You can still manually blur faces by clicking + Add on the Blur Overlay."
  4. Choose the faces (ranges up to 2 minutes). The AI Options window, "Choose the faces to blur", shows a picture of each face found. The same person usually appears several times, from different angles and moments, so tick every picture of each person you want hidden. Select All and Deselect All help with crowds; Columns sets how many pictures fit in a row. Click Apply. To change your choice later, click AI Options above the player.
  5. Check the free preview. The first 2 minutes are blurred for free. Play it through and look at faces at the edges of the frame, in profile, partly covered and moving fast.
  6. Fix misses by hand. Move the timeline cursor to a frame where a face is uncovered, open Add Blur, set Overlay Duration and click Add. Drag the new cover over the face and resize it with its handles. To remove a cover, click it and press the trash icon.
  7. Finish and export. For a range over 2 minutes, click Finish blurring to charge for the range and blur the rest with your current style. Then use Export. See Previews and exports.

To blur a video longer than 10 minutes, run it in parts: one project per range.

Output

  • Premium export: MP4 at up to 1080p, no watermark, original sound.
  • HD export: 4K, for 4K sources on Business and Studio.
  • Free preview export: 720p with a small VIDIO mark in the corner.

Accuracy

  • Well-lit, front-facing faces of a reasonable size are found most reliably. Very small, distant, backlit, blurred or heavily angled faces are the ones to check by hand.
  • Fast motion (a quick head turn, someone crossing the frame) is where a cover is most likely to slip for a few frames.
  • Treat the result as a first pass on privacy-critical footage: raise Cover Size, then watch the whole export before you publish.

If something goes wrong

  • The face list didn't appear. It appears only for ranges up to 2 minutes; longer ranges blur every face found. Make a new project with a shorter range if you need to choose.
  • AI Options is missing. Same reason: the button is shown only for ranges up to 2 minutes.
  • Premium export is greyed out. Click Finish blurring first.
  • A poster or screen is blurred. Untick it in AI Options, or click its cover and press the trash icon.
  • A face is uncovered for a moment. Add a cover at that frame with Add Blur, and raise Cover Size so moving faces stay inside it.
  • "Max running jobs reached." See Previews and exports. For stuck or halted jobs see Processing problems, and ask us if you were charged for a run that failed.

License Plate Blurring

#Open

License Plate Blurring detects number plates on cars, bikes and trucks, keeps a blur on each one as the vehicle moves, and lets you add or remove covers by hand. Use it for dashcam and bodycam footage, car reviews, street, travel and real-estate video, or any shot with parked or passing vehicles.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Plates only. Faces, street signs, house numbers and other text are not covered. Use AI Face Blurring for people and AI Privacy Blur for private text.
  • You choose which plates, on clips up to 2 minutes. For a range of 2 minutes or less you get a list of the plates found and tick the ones to hide. For a longer range, every plate found is blurred; you can still remove covers afterwards.
  • One look: a blur. There is no pixelate or emoji cover here; you set the blur's size, strength and tint.
  • Detected covers follow the plate; covers you add by hand stay where you place them for the time you set.
  • Picture only. Sound and timing are not changed.

How to use it

  1. Import. Open License Plate Blurring (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 10 minutes on a paid plan, 15 seconds on Free, at least 1 second. Over 2 minutes, the window warns that every detected plate will be blurred.
  3. Wait for detection. It usually takes a few minutes. You can leave the page; the project stays in Projects. If nothing is found: "No license plates were found in the video. You can still manually blur license plates by clicking + Add on the Blur Overlay."
  4. Choose the plates (ranges up to 2 minutes). AI Options opens with "Choose the plates to blur" and a picture of each plate found. A plate is often found several times from different angles, so tick every picture of each plate you want hidden (Select All / Deselect All help on busy streets), then click Apply. Reopen the list any time with AI Options above the player.
  5. Check the free preview. The first 15 seconds are blurred for free. Look at plates at the edges of the frame, at sharp angles and on vehicles that pass quickly.
  6. Fix misses by hand. Move the timeline cursor to the frame, open Add Blur, set Overlay Duration and click Add, then drag and resize the cover over the plate. To remove a cover, click it and press the trash icon.
  7. Finish and export. For a range longer than 15 seconds, click Finish blurring to charge for the range and blur the rest. Then open Export. See Previews and exports.

  • HD export: 4K, for 4K sources on Business and Studio.
  • Free preview export: 720p with a small VIDIO mark in the corner.

Accuracy

  • If you can read the plate, the AI usually finds it. Motion blur, glare, night footage, dirt and very small or distant plates are where detection drops.
  • Sharp angles and partial views (a plate half hidden by another car) are the most common misses. Scrub through those moments.
  • Signs, stickers and logos with plate-like shapes can be picked up by mistake. Leave them unticked or delete their covers.

If something goes wrong

  • No plate list. It's shown only for ranges up to 2 minutes; longer ranges blur every plate found.

Voice Redaction

#Open

Voice Redaction transcribes the speech in your video, marks the words you probably don't want heard, and replaces them with a beep, silence or noise. It can also shift the pitch of the speakers' voices so they are harder to recognize. Use it for interviews, testimonials, recorded calls, bodycam and court footage, or podcasts with guests.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Works on words. Everything is based on the transcript: you cover whole words or phrases, not arbitrary stretches of sound.
  • Finds four kinds of words for you: names, numbers and IDs, contact details, and profanity. Your own words are a fifth group.
  • Every change plays back right away in the editor, so you hear the result before exporting. There's no Apply button.
  • The whole video is used. There's no range to pick; the video must fit your plan's length limit.
  • Picture untouched. Faces and on-screen text stay visible; use AI Face Blurring and AI Privacy Blur for those.

How to use it

  1. Import. Open Voice Redaction (signed in) and click Import. Videos can be up to 40 minutes on a paid plan, 1 minute on Free. See Uploading files.
  2. Wait for the transcript. The speech is transcribed and flagged automatically, for free. You can leave the page; the project stays in Projects.
  3. Choose what to cover. In the Redaction panel, each group shows how many words it found. All groups are on when you start, so names, numbers, contact details and profanity are covered straight away. Turn off a group to let its words through.
  4. Add your own words. Under Always redact these words, type a word or phrase and press Enter. Separate several with commas. Every mention is covered, ignoring capital letters; a phrase is matched only when its words come in that order. Remove one with its ×.
  5. Fine-tune in the transcript. Covered words are highlighted in their group's color. Click a word to cover it or keep it, Shift-click to select a range, double-click to jump the video there. The panel's summary shows "N spans · N s replaced", or "Nothing is redacted yet."
  6. Pick the sound and padding (see Options), and turn on Disguise voices if you need it.
  7. Compare. Use the Original switch to hear the untouched audio, and switch back.
  8. Export. Open Export. Free preview export gives a watermarked copy; Premium export asks for the credits the first time, then renders your current choices. If you changed something since the last render, the tool renders again and the download follows. See Previews and exports.

  • Transcribing, editing, listening and the Free preview export are free. You're charged once, at the first Premium export. After that, exporting again, even after more changes, is free; the menu says "Paid · exporting again is free". See Credits.

  • Premium export: MP4 with the redacted soundtrack, no watermark. The picture is the same as your upload.
  • Free preview export: a smaller copy (1280 pixels on the long side) with a small VIDIO mark in the corner.

Accuracy

  • Clear speech transcribes best. Music under the voice, people talking over each other, strong accents and quiet speakers cause misheard or missed words, and a missed word isn't covered. Read the transcript around anything sensitive.
  • Flagging can miss or over-reach. A name that sounds like an ordinary word, or a number said as words, may not be put in a group. Use Always redact these words for anything that must never be heard.
  • Word timing is close, not exact. Fast speakers can leave a syllable audible; raise Padding around each word.
  • The preview and the export can sound slightly different when pitch is shifted, because the export is rendered separately. Listen to the exported file before publishing.
  • A disguised voice still carries its words and accent. If the speaker is on camera, blur the face too with AI Face Blurring.

If something goes wrong

  • "No transcript yet" on an older project. Projects made with the earlier pitch-only tool show "This project was made with the earlier Voice Redaction." Click Transcribe for word redaction (free). Your earlier result stays downloadable with Download earlier result, and its pitch change stays on under Disguise voices.
  • "No speech was found in this video." The sound is silent, music only or too quiet. If the voice is buried in noise, run Audio Background Noise Remover first, then import the cleaned video.
  • "Couldn't load the transcript." The transcript exists but didn't load. Click Try again after a moment.
  • A word was missed. Click it in the transcript, or add it under Always redact these words to catch every mention.
  • The video is too long. Trim it under 40 minutes (1 minute on Free) before importing, or split it into parts.
  • Stuck or halted. See Processing problems, and ask us if you were charged for a render that failed.

AI Privacy Blur

#Open

AI Privacy Blur reads every piece of text that appears in your video, decides which of it is private, and blurs only that. Titles, menus and ordinary signs stay readable. Use it on screen recordings, product demos and tutorials, or footage where documents, mail, badges or screens are visible.

What it treats as private

Each piece of text the tool reads is checked against this list:

  • names, email addresses, phone numbers and street addresses
  • account IDs and numbers, government ID numbers and credit card numbers
  • passwords, API keys and tokens, and verification or login codes
  • medical details, financial details and private messages

Anything else (a project name, a customer's logo, a price) is left alone; cover it by hand. Faces and spoken words are not covered: use AI Face Blurring and Voice Redaction.

How to use it

  1. Import. Open AI Privacy Blur (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 10 minutes on a paid plan, 2 minutes on Free, at least 1 second. Over 2 minutes, the window says "it will blur all detected text and require credits to process".
  3. Wait while the text is read. This takes a few minutes, longer for text-heavy video. You can leave the page; the project stays in Projects. If nothing private is found: "No texts were found in the video. You can still manually blur texts by clicking + Add on the Blur Overlay."
  4. Review what was found (ranges up to 2 minutes). AI Options opens with "Choose the texts to blur". Each picture shows a found item with the words the tool read from it under Detected text. The same text often appears several times as the screen scrolls or the camera moves, so tick every copy you want covered, then click Apply. Reopen the list any time with AI Options.
  5. Check the free preview. The first 2 minutes are blurred for free. Watch scrolling pages, quick cuts and small print.
  6. Cover anything else. Move the timeline cursor to the frame, open Add Blur, set Overlay Duration, click Add, then drag and resize the cover over the text. To remove a cover, click it and press the trash icon.
  7. Finish and export. For a range over 2 minutes, click Finish blurring, then open Export. See Previews and exports.

Options

Open Styles above the player (beside it on wide screens).

OptionRangeWhat it does
Blur Size0.1 to 5, default 2How far the blur reaches beyond the detected text. Small text usually needs a little more so no characters show at the edges.
Blur Level0 to 100, default 20Strength of the blur. Raise it for large text, which can stay legible under a light blur.
Blur ColorColor picker, default noneTints the blurred area. A solid tint hides text more completely.

  • Free preview export: 720p with a small VIDIO mark in the corner.

Accuracy

  • Readable text is found best. If text is too small, blurry, angled or low-contrast for you to read, the tool may not read it either. Zoom screen recordings in on sensitive areas, or cover them by hand.
  • The reader is set up for English. Text in other languages and scripts is more likely to be missed or misread; check it yourself.
  • Deciding what's private is a judgment call. A first name on a slide, an order number or a partial address can be judged either way. Use the review list on short clips, and watch the export before you publish.
  • Fast scrolling leaves text on screen for only a few frames, which is where misses are most likely.

If something goes wrong

  • A title or menu was blurred. Untick it in AI Options, or click its cover and press the trash icon.
  • Private text wasn't caught. Add a cover with Add Blur. For text that stays on screen, set Overlay Duration to match how long it's visible.

Object Tracking

#Open

Object Tracking follows one thing through your clip and keeps a visual marker on it: corner brackets around it or an arrow above it. You mark it once by drawing a box on a single frame, and the tool finds it in every other frame. Use it to point out a player, a product, a car or one person in a crowd.

What it does and doesn't do

  • You mark it with a box. There's no typing a description; you draw on the video.
  • One frame only. All boxes go on the same frame. Starting a box on another frame clears the earlier ones ("Previous frame boxes were removed. You can draw only one frame.").
  • One marker at a time. You can draw several boxes, but they're tracked together, and in each frame the marker goes on the largest tracked area. To mark two separate things, run the clip twice (two projects).
  • The marker follows the object's outline, not just the box you drew, so it grows, shrinks and moves with it.
  • No manual markers or style controls. You can't add a marker by hand or change its size or color afterwards.
  • To track something else, start a new project. Change options is available only until the first result is ready.

How to use it

  1. Import. Open Object Tracking (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 2 minutes on a paid plan, 5 seconds on Free, at least 1 second.
  3. Draw the box. The Draw boxes window opens on your clip. Play or scrub to a frame where the object is fully visible and sharp, then drag a box around it. A marker on the window's timeline shows the chosen frame; you can jump back to it.
  4. Pick the Highlight Type: Corner Focus (default) or Arrow Focus, then click Apply. Apply stays greyed out until at least one box is drawn.
  5. Wait for the free preview. The first 30 seconds of the range are processed for free. You can leave the page; the project stays in Projects.
  6. Check it. Flip the Original / Processed switch above the player and watch where the object passes behind something, leaves the frame or crosses a similar object.
  7. Process the rest and export. For a range longer than 30 seconds, play or click past the striped (processed) part of the timeline. The credits dialog opens; Okay charges for the range and processes the rest. Then open Export. See Previews and exports.

Options

  • HD export: 4K, for 4K sources on Business and Studio.
  • Free preview export: 720p with a small VIDIO mark in the corner.

Accuracy

  • The frame you draw on matters most. Pick one where the object is clear, not blurred by motion and not overlapping something that looks like it.
  • Similar objects crossing (two players in the same kit) can make the marker jump to the wrong one.
  • Hidden or off-screen moments: when the object is covered or leaves the frame, the marker disappears, and it may not pick the object up again in the same way.
  • Long, busy clips drift more. Shorter ranges with a clear subject give the steadiest result.

If something goes wrong

  • The marker follows the wrong thing. Start a new project and draw on a clearer frame, with a tighter box.
  • The marker stops partway. The object was hidden or left the frame. Choose a range where it stays in view, or split the clip.
  • Apply is greyed out. Draw at least one box first.
  • My earlier boxes vanished. You started drawing on another frame; all boxes must be on one frame.
  • Premium export is greyed out. Process the rest of the range first (step 7).
  • Want to highlight a player across a whole game? VibeEdit can build a highlight reel of one player's moments instead.
  • Stuck or halted. See Processing problems, and ask us if you were charged for a run that failed.

Video Upscaler

#Open

Video Upscaler enlarges your video four times in each direction and uses AI to rebuild edges and texture as it goes, instead of just stretching pixels. Use it on footage that looks small or soft on a modern screen: old phone and camera clips, archive and stock footage, low-resolution downloads.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Works on the whole frame. Landscapes, products, text and people are all treated the same way. If the video is mainly about faces, Face Enhancer adds face restoration on top of the same upscaling.
  • Upscales four times, to at most 3840 pixels. VIDIO works from a copy of your clip whose longest side is at most 960 pixels and makes it four times as wide and tall. The longest side of the result is at most 3840 pixels: 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD) for a 16:9 source of 960 × 540 or larger, 2560 × 1440 for a 640 × 360 clip. The exact output size is printed on the Upscaled label above the result, so you know it before you pay.
  • Sources over 960 pixels are reduced first. If the longest side of your video is more than 960 pixels (720p, 1080p and 4K all are), it is scaled down to 960 before upscaling. Nothing is rejected, but a higher-resolution upload doesn't give a sharper result than a 960-pixel one. When this happens, the Original label shows the reduced size and an info icon next to it says the input was downscaled. Upscaling helps most on sources at or below 960 pixels; on footage that is already sharp HD or 4K you may see little difference.
  • It can't recover what was never recorded. Heavy blur, missed focus and strong compression improve, but the AI fills gaps with plausible texture. Fine text and small faces can come out invented-looking.
  • Keeps your timing and sound. Frame rate stays the same and the original audio is kept.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and import. Open Video Upscaler (you need to be signed in) and click Import to add a file from your device or a cloud link. Upload rules are in Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles to choose the part to upscale, then click Apply. The longest range is 5 minutes on a paid plan and 5 seconds on Free; the shortest is 1 second. Clips under 3 seconds skip this step and start right away.
  3. Wait for the free preview. VIDIO upscales the first 5 seconds of your range at no cost. A progress banner shows the percentage; you can close the page and come back from Projects while it runs.
  4. Compare. The Original plays on the left and the Upscaled result on the right (stacked on phones), in sync, with sound from the result. Pause and drag the timeline to compare single frames; look at faces, text, hair and fabric. The striped part of the timeline is what has been processed. Past the preview, the right panel says only the first 5 seconds are free.
  5. Finish the rest. If you like it, click Finish upscaling. A dialog shows Credits required and your Credit balance; click Okay to charge and process the rest of the range, or Buy credits if you're short.
  6. Export. Open Export and choose Premium export for the full result without a watermark. See previews and exports for every export option.

Options

There are no settings: the only choice you make is the range.

ChoiceWhat it does
Range (Select the video range)The part of the video that is processed and charged. Up to 5 min on paid plans, 5 sec on Free, at least 1 sec.
Finish upscalingCharges for the whole range and processes everything after the first 5 seconds. Only shown when the range is longer than 5 seconds.

Cost

  • 0.5 credits per second of the range you selected: 30 credits for a minute, 150 for 5 minutes. Seconds are counted whole (a 10.7-second range costs as 10 seconds), with a minimum of 1 second.
  • The preview is free. Credits are used once, when you click Finish upscaling (or Premium export for ranges of 5 seconds or less). Later premium downloads of the same project don't use more credits. How credits work is in Credits.

Output

  • Premium export: MP4 (H.264, AAC audio) at the full upscaled size shown on the Upscaled label (at most 3840 pixels on the long side), same frame rate as your source.
  • Free preview export: the preview with a watermark, reduced to at most 1920 pixels on the long side (1080p).

If something goes wrong

  • The result looks almost the same. Your source is probably already HD or sharper, or it was reduced before processing. Try a lower-resolution source, or use Video Sharpener when the size is fine but the picture is soft.
  • Faces look waxy or slightly different. That's the AI filling detail it couldn't find. Face Enhancer handles faces better; very small faces may not improve with either tool.
  • Premium export is greyed out. The range is longer than 5 seconds and hasn't been finished yet. Click Finish upscaling first.
  • "We are setting up for your job" means a server is starting for you. It usually clears in a few minutes; if it doesn't, see Processing problems.
  • The job stopped with "Server error - Job halted." Start a new project with the same file. If it happens again or you were charged for a failed run, ask us.

For darker footage, brighten it first with Video Lightener, then upscale.

Face Enhancer

#Open

Face Enhancer finds every face in each frame, rebuilds eyes, skin and hair with AI, and upscales the rest of the picture four times at the same time. Use it when people are the point of the video: old family footage, interviews shot from a distance, soft phone clips of friends.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Every face, every frame. All detected faces are restored, not only the one in the middle. The background is upscaled the same way as in Video Upscaler, so you don't need to run both.
  • Upscales four times, to at most 4096 pixels. VIDIO works from a copy of your clip whose longest side is at most 1024 pixels and makes it four times as wide and tall, so the longest side of the result is at most 4096 pixels (4096 × 2304 for a 16:9 source of 1024 × 576 or larger). The exact size is shown on the Face enhanced label above the result.
  • Sources over 1024 pixels are reduced first. If the longest side of your video is more than 1024 pixels (1080p and 4K both are), it is scaled down to 1024 before enhancing. Nothing is rejected, but a higher-resolution upload doesn't give a sharper result than a 1024-pixel one. The Original label then shows the reduced size, and an info icon next to it says so.
  • Faces are reconstructed, not sharpened. On very poor footage the AI draws in detail it can't see, which can make someone look smoother, younger or slightly different from who they are. Always check people you know in the preview.
  • Frame by frame. Each frame is restored on its own, so a face that turns, moves fast or is partly covered can change a little from one frame to the next.
  • Front-facing faces gain the most. Profiles, faces behind hands or hair, and faces only a few pixels tall get less benefit or none.
  • Keeps your timing and sound. Frame rate stays the same and the original audio is kept.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and import. Open Face Enhancer (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files for sources and file rules.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 5 minutes on a paid plan, 5 seconds on Free, at least 1 second. Clips under 3 seconds start right away.
  3. Wait for the free preview. The first 5 seconds of the range are enhanced free. You can leave the page; the project keeps running in Projects.
  4. Compare. Original plays on the left and Face enhanced on the right, in sync. Pause on frames where faces are turned, far away or moving, not only the best close-up.
  5. Finish. Click Finish face enhancing. The dialog shows Credits required; Okay charges and processes the rest of the range.
  6. Export. Use Export → Premium export for the full result without a watermark. All export options are in previews and exports.

If something goes wrong

  • Faces look plastic or like a different person. The source has too little detail for the AI to work from. Use Video Upscaler for a more natural, less reconstructed look.
  • Nothing seems to change on faces. They may be too small, turned away or covered. The rest of the frame is still upscaled.
  • Faces shimmer between frames. That comes from frame-by-frame restoration on moving or partly hidden faces. A steadier shot (try Video Stabilizer first) or a range with clearer faces helps.

Video Sharpener

#Open

Video Sharpener strengthens edges and fine texture in footage that is a little soft, and keeps the picture at the same size. It's the quick, cheap fix when the resolution is fine but the image isn't crisp: mild focus misses, soft phone footage, clips smeared by compression.

What it does and doesn't do

  • One fixed sharpening pass. Every frame gets the same edge-sharpening filter. There is no strength setting, so judge the preview: what you see there is what the full run gives you.
  • Keeps the size. The output has the same proportions as your source; it is not enlarged. To make small footage bigger, use Video Upscaler.
  • Brings out everything fine, including noise. Grain in dark shots, compression blocks and banding get sharper along with real detail.
  • Doesn't fix real blur. Strong motion blur or a completely out-of-focus shot doesn't have the detail to recover; edges get harsher without getting clearer.
  • Keeps your timing and sound. Same frame rate, original audio kept.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and import. Open Video Sharpener (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 2 minutes on a paid plan, 1 minute on Free, at least 1 second.
  3. Wait for the free preview. The first 60 seconds of the range are sharpened free. On Free, that's the whole range.
  4. Compare. Original plays on the left and Sharpened on the right, in sync. Pause and drag to compare edges, text, hair and fabric at full screen.
  5. Finish the rest. If your range is longer than 60 seconds, click Finish sharpening, check Credits required, and click Okay.
  6. Export. Export → Premium export gives the full result without a watermark; the menu shows its size in brackets. Details in previews and exports.

To sharpen more than 2 minutes, run the tool again on the next part in a new project.

Output

  • Premium export: MP4 (H.264, AAC audio), same frame rate and proportions as your source, at the size shown next to Premium export.
  • Free preview export: watermarked, at most 1280 pixels on the long side (720p).

Good order with other tools

  • Brighten, then sharpen. Sharpening dark footage makes its noise worse; run Video Lightener first.
  • Stabilize first if the softness comes from shake: Video Stabilizer steadies the frames, then sharpen the steady file.
  • Sharpen before colour grading in your own editor.

If something goes wrong

  • It looks over-sharpened, with halos or crunchy grain. The filter is fixed, so there's no lighter setting. Use Video Upscaler instead, which rebuilds detail rather than boosting edges.
  • Premium export is greyed out. Your range is longer than 60 seconds; click Finish sharpening first.
  • The job halted. Start a new project with the same file; see Processing problems or ask us.

Video Lightener

#Open

Video Lightener uses AI to lift dark footage: it separates the lighting in each frame from the surfaces underneath, raises the light, and puts the two back together, so shadows open up without simply turning everything grey. Use it on night and indoor clips, dim venues, underexposed shots and dark dashcam or security footage.

What it does and doesn't do

  • One strong, automatic setting. There's no brightness slider. The tool always brightens a lot, which suits genuinely dark footage. Footage that is only slightly dark, or already well lit, can come out washed out or over-bright.
  • Shows the noise that was hiding. Dark footage is grainy, and lifting it makes the grain and colour noise visible.
  • Can't recover pure black. Areas with no detail in the original stay empty or turn into flat noise.
  • Bright spots stay bright. Lamps, screens and windows that were already blown out won't gain detail.
  • Up to 1080p. The result is made at the working size of up to 1080p, shown next to Premium export. 4K sources come out at that working size; a greyed-out HD export appears in the menu but isn't available for this tool.
  • Keeps your timing and sound. Same frame rate, original audio kept.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and import. Open Video Lightener (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 5 minutes on every plan, at least 1 second. Clips under 3 seconds start right away.
  3. Wait for the free preview. The first 5 seconds of the range are brightened free. You can leave and come back from Projects.
  4. Compare. Original plays on the left and Lightened on the right, in sync. Check both the darkest areas and the bright ones, and look at skin tones.
  5. Finish. Click Finish lightening (the message over the preview calls it "Finish brightening"), check Credits required, and click Okay.
  6. Export. Export → Premium export for the full result without a watermark. See previews and exports.

Night street with lightsShadows open up; light sources may bloom and look harsh.
Very dark, noisy phone footageVisible, but grainy.
Normally exposed footageUsually too bright and flat. Don't use this tool.

Good order with other tools

If something goes wrong

  • It's far too bright or looks washed out. The source wasn't dark enough for this tool's fixed strength. Correct exposure in your own editor instead.
  • Grain got much worse. That's noise that was already in the dark parts; the tool doesn't remove it. Check the preview on the darkest scene of your range before you pay for all of it.
  • Premium export is greyed out. Click Finish lightening first.
  • The job halted. See Processing problems, or ask us if a paid run failed.

Video Stabilizer

#Open

Video Stabilizer tracks how the camera moved from frame to frame, smooths that path, and shifts each frame to cancel the jitter. Use it on handheld phone clips, walking shots, action footage and B-roll shot without a tripod. Steadying a frame moves its edges, so you choose how much to crop and how any remaining gap is filled.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Removes jitter, keeps deliberate moves. The camera path is smoothed over 30 frames (about a second at 30 fps), so slow pans and tilts stay while quick wobble goes. Very fast, intentional whip pans can be softened too.
  • Handles cuts. If your range contains several shots, VIDIO detects the cuts and stabilizes each shot on its own, so one shot's motion doesn't leak into the next.
  • Crops the picture. The chosen crop is taken off all four edges by the same number of pixels, so the result is a little smaller than your source and slightly wider in proportion. It is not scaled back up.
  • Doesn't remove motion blur. Frames blurred by the shake become steady but stay soft. Video Sharpener can help a little afterwards.
  • No rolling-shutter fix. The wobbly "jelly" look from fast phone movement isn't corrected.
  • Keeps your timing and sound. Same frame rate; the original audio is kept.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool. Open Video Stabilizer (signed in). The first time, Choose the right tool for your needs appears; pick Do not show this message again if you don't need it, then continue to the import dialog.
  2. Import. Click Import. The video must be at least 3 seconds long. See Uploading files.
  3. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles and click Apply: up to 5 minutes on a paid plan, 1 minute on Free, at least 3 seconds.
  4. Choose settings. Select options opens. Pick a Boundary crop size and a Choose border type (see the table), then click Apply. The whole range is stabilized, free.
  5. Compare. Original plays on the left and Stabilized on the right, in sync. Watch the edges of the frame as well as the subject.
  6. Try other settings. Click Choose settings to run again with a different crop or border. Runs are free; credits are only used at the premium export, so settle on your settings before you export.
  7. Export. Export → Premium export (or HD export for 4K on Business and Studio). The credits dialog appears the first time. See previews and exports.

Options

SettingChoicesWhat it does
Boundary crop sizeMinimal, Moderate (default), MaximalHow much is cut from every edge to hide the moving border. About 4%, 8% or 12% of the frame's average side per edge (for 1920×1080, that's 60, 120 or 180 pixels on each side).
Choose border typeBlack (default), Reflect, ReplicateWhat fills any gap the crop doesn't hide: black bars, a mirror image of the nearby picture, or the edge pixels stretched outward.

Which to pick:

  • Light handheld wobble: Minimal with Reflect or Replicate keeps the most picture.
  • Walking or running: Moderate or Maximal hides the moving edges best.
  • Footage you'll crop anyway (for example to vertical): Maximal costs you nothing you'd keep.

Cost

  • 0.01 credits per second of the range: 0.6 credits a minute, 3 credits for 5 minutes. Whole seconds, minimum 1 second.
  • Charged at the premium export. Running the stabilizer, and re-running it with new settings, is free. Downloading the same result again later doesn't use more credits. See Credits.

On Business and Studio, sources at least 1920 pixels in both width and height (such as 4K) are stabilized at full resolution and exported with HD export. Smaller sources, and all sources on other plans, use the working copy of up to 1080p.

Output

  • Premium export / HD export: MP4 (H.264, AAC audio), encoded at very high quality, so the file can be larger than your original. Size is your source (or working copy) minus the crop.
  • Free preview export: watermarked, at most 1280 pixels on the long side.

If something goes wrong

  • Black bars flicker at the edges. The shake is bigger than the crop. Choose a larger Boundary crop size, or switch Choose border type to Reflect or Replicate.
  • Too much of the picture is lost. Use Minimal with Reflect or Replicate.
  • The motion now looks floaty. Smoothing slows down sudden camera moves. Stabilize only the shaky part of your clip by narrowing the range.
  • The import is refused. Videos shorter than 3 seconds can't be stabilized.
  • The job halted. See Processing problems, or ask us.

For slow motion from steady footage, follow up with Video Frame Interpolation.

Video Frame Interpolation

#Open

Video Frame Interpolation uses AI to create new frames between the ones you filmed. Use them in one of two ways: play the moment back at half or quarter speed without stutter, or keep the speed and make motion smoother with two or four times the frame rate. It suits sports and action moments, product reveals, dance and choppy low-frame-rate footage.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Slow motion keeps the frame rate and stretches time. 50% Speed Slow Motion makes the clip twice as long and 25% Speed Slow Motion four times as long, at your original frame rate. A 10-second moment at 25% becomes 40 seconds.
  • Slow motion has no sound. The slowed result is exported without audio. Add music or effects in your editor or with VibeEdit.
  • Frame-rate modes keep the speed and the sound. 2x Frame Rate and 4x Frame Rate keep the same length and original audio, with two or four times as many frames per second (a 30 fps clip becomes 60 or 120 fps).
  • Cuts are respected. Where your clip cuts from one shot to another, VIDIO repeats frames instead of blending the two shots, so you don't get a ghosted cross-fade at the cut.
  • The AI guesses the in-between motion. Simple, steady movement looks clean. Crowds, spinning wheels, splashing water, fast hands and things passing in front of each other can show warping or smears where the guess is wrong.
  • It doesn't add motion blur or detail. Each new frame is as sharp as the frames around it.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and import. Open Video Frame Interpolation (signed in) and click Import. See Uploading files.
  2. Pick the range. In Select the video range, drag the blue handles to just the moment you need and click Apply: up to 1 minute on a paid plan, 15 seconds on Free.
  3. Pick an effect. Select options opens with 2x Frame Rate selected. Choose an option (see the table) and click Apply. The whole range is processed free.
  4. Compare. Use the Original / Processed switch above the player to flip between the two. The Output summary panel next to the video lists Input FPS and Output FPS for frame-rate modes, or Input duration and Output duration for slow motion.
  5. Try another effect. Click Change options to run again with a different choice.
  6. Export. Export → Premium export (or HD export for 4K on Business and Studio). The credits dialog appears. See previews and exports.

Many players and social platforms show 60 fps at most, so a 4x result from 30 fps footage may not look different from 2x once posted.

On Business and Studio, sources at least 1920 pixels in both width and height are processed at full resolution, and 4K sources are exported with HD export. Other sources and plans use the working copy, whose size is shown next to Premium export.

Output

  • Premium export / HD export: MP4 (H.264). AAC audio for the frame-rate modes, no audio for slow motion.
  • Free preview export: the result with a watermark, at most 1280 pixels on the long side.

Get a better result

  • Stabilize first. Shake confuses the motion guess. Run Video Stabilizer, then interpolate the steady file.
  • Keep the range tight. Slow motion multiplies length; select only the moment that matters.
  • Higher source frame rates interpolate better. Footage shot at 60 fps has less motion between frames to guess than 24 or 30 fps.

If something goes wrong

  • Warped or smeared objects. The motion was too fast or complex between two frames. Try 50% instead of 25%, or 2x instead of 4x, which guess fewer frames.
  • No sound in my download. Expected for both slow-motion options.
  • The clip looks the same. For the frame-rate modes, your player may be capped at 60 fps. Check the Output summary.

Audio Background Noise Remover

#Open

Audio Background Noise Remover uses AI to pull the voices out of your video's soundtrack and drop everything else: air conditioning, fans, wind, traffic, keyboard clicks, crowd murmur and background music. There's nothing to set up. Use it on interviews, vlogs, lectures, talking-head clips and anything recorded with a camera or phone microphone.

What it does and doesn't do

  • Keeps voices, removes the rest. The AI separates the human voice from all other sound, so it is not a gentle noise filter: anything that isn't voice is treated as noise.
  • Background music is removed, but singing stays. Instruments under speech are cut along with the noise. If the music has vocals, the singing is a voice and is kept.
  • The whole video is processed. There's no range to pick; the entire file is cleaned in one run.
  • The cleaned sound is mono. Both channels carry the same cleaned voice, so stereo placement (for example two microphones panned left and right) is lost.
  • The picture isn't edited. Only the soundtrack changes; the video keeps its frames and timing.
  • The video needs an audio track. A silent video has nothing to clean and the run stops with an error.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and import. Open Audio Background Noise Remover (signed in) and click Import. Paid plans accept videos up to 40 minutes, Free up to 1 minute. The tool takes video files; to clean an audio-only recording, put it in a video file first. See Uploading files.
  2. Wait. Cleaning starts as soon as the upload is processed, with no other step. You can leave the page; the project stays in Projects.
  3. Listen. Use the Original / Edited switch above the player to flip between the two soundtracks. Listen in quiet passages and between sentences, where leftover noise and any damage to the voice are easiest to hear. Use headphones if you can.
  4. Export. Export → Premium export for the full video without a watermark. The credits dialog appears. See previews and exports.

Options

None. The tool decides what is voice on its own.

Cost

  • 0.05 credits per second of the video: 3 credits a minute, 120 credits for a 40-minute video. Whole seconds, minimum 1 second.
  • Charged at the premium export. Cleaning and listening are free. Downloading the same result again doesn't use more credits. See Credits.

What to expect

Sound in your videoResult

  • Record close to the speaker. The cleaner the voice is to begin with, the more natural it sounds afterwards.
  • Clean first, then add music. Remove noise from the raw recording, then put music under it in your editor or in VibeEdit.
  • Need to hide words or names too? Run Voice Redaction on the cleaned file.

If something goes wrong

  • The voice sounds robotic, watery or cut off. The noise was as loud as the voice, so the AI couldn't fully separate them. There's no gentler setting; keep the original audio for that part.
  • The music I wanted is gone. Expected: everything that isn't voice is removed. Add music back afterwards.
  • The import is refused as too long. Your video is over your plan's limit (1 minute on Free, 40 minutes on paid plans). Trim it before importing, or see Upload problems.
  • The job halted. Check the video has sound, then see Processing problems or ask us.

Publish

Titles, descriptions, tags, the hook audit and scheduled posting.

Publish planner

#Open

Publish is where you get a video ready for YouTube and schedule it. You write the title, description and hashtags (or have AI write them), check how the opening and the packaging score, pick a time when your channel's videos do best, and VIDIO uploads the video to YouTube to go public at that time. You need to be logged in; without an account the page asks you to Log in.

The three tabs

  • New post: the four-step planner described below. Your draft stays as it is while you switch to the other tabs, but leaving or reloading the page starts a new one. Start over clears it on purpose.
  • Scheduled: every post you've scheduled, split into Upcoming (soonest first) and Published and past. The tab shows a count of upcoming posts. See Scheduling and best time for statuses and what you can change.
  • Calendar: a month view of the same posts, each with its time and title. Use the arrows or Today to move between months, and click a day to see its posts with their status and a link to YouTube. A day with many posts shows +N more.

The four steps

  1. Details. Pick the Format (Short or Long-form video). Type What is your video about? and click Write with AI to get a title, description, tags and keyword, or fill in Title, Description and Hashtags yourself. A Thumbnail is optional. A title is required to move on. See AI metadata generator.
  2. Score. Add the video: Choose a video (or drag it in) to upload one, or Choose from my projects to use a video you already have in VIDIO. Once it's in, the Hook score (Shorts only) and Click appeal run by themselves. You can move on as soon as the video has finished uploading, whatever the scores. See AI audit.
  3. Best time. Choose one of your tracked channels and see the weekdays and times its videos get the most views, then pick one. This step is optional and the analysis is on paid plans. See Scheduling and best time.
  4. Schedule. Set the date, time and Time zone, connect YouTube if you haven't, choose what happens After it goes live, and click Confirm schedule. The page then moves to the Scheduled tab, where the new post appears with its upload progress.

What you can upload

Limit
Video typesMP4, MOV, M4V or WebM

  • Short or long-form is suggested from the file: a vertical video of 3 minutes or less is treated as a Short, anything else as long-form. You can switch the Format yourself; it decides whether the hook is scored and which best times you see.
  • Choose from my projects has two tabs. Finished videos lists projects whose result is ready; tools that need an export (such as blurring or VibeEdit) appear once the export has finished. Uploaded videos lists the original files you uploaded to projects. VIDIO copies the file into your draft, so a later re-export or deleting the project doesn't change what you schedule.

  • Scheduled posts are counted in the calendar month (UTC) in which you click Confirm schedule, not the month the video goes live. The planner shows N of M scheduled posts left this month. When none are left, the Schedule step shows the date more become available and an Upgrade button.
  • A failed upload doesn't count. A Retry counts again, in the month you retry.
  • Daily scores reset each day (UTC). Every plan also has a shared cap of 60 scores a day; past it, scoring pauses until the next day.
  • AI metadata costs 1 message or credit per result on every plan. See How credits work.
  • Upgrading in the middle of a post keeps your draft: the new limits apply as soon as the plan changes.

Demos

The Demo button at the top of the page opens worked examples, one tab each for AI metadata generator, AI audit and Scheduler. They use public MrBeast videos, with scores and text produced by VIDIO's own tools. Try it with my video closes the demo and takes you to the New post tab (and to the idea field, from the metadata demo). When you open Publish from one of the tools in the site's Publish menu, the matching demo opens once in that browser; the Demo button always shows it again.

Before you post

On the Score step, Review the whole video before you post opens an AI video review of the same file in a new tab, so your draft stays where it is. It costs 1 credit per minute of video (2 credits minimum).

Questions the guide doesn't answer: ask us.

AI metadata generator

#Open

The AI metadata generator writes a title, description, tags and a keyword for a YouTube video from a short description of it. It looks up real YouTube videos on the same topic, checks how many views they got, and writes from the ones that did well. It's the first step of the Publish planner, and you can use it before you have the video.

How to use it

  1. Open Publish. On the New post tab, under What is your video about?, describe the video in your own words, up to 2,000 characters. A specific idea works better than a topic: "I tested 5 budget mics for streaming and one beat a $300 mic" gives more to work with than "mic review".
  2. Click Write with AI. The button shows it uses 1 message or credit. Writing takes about 20 seconds; a progress bar shows the stage (understanding the idea, searching YouTube for similar videos, checking how they performed, writing).
  3. Empty fields are filled straight away: Title, Description and Hashtags. A field you had already filled in keeps your text. Everything the AI wrote also appears under AI suggestions.
  4. Edit anything you like, then click Next to go on to the scores.

You can also start from the YouTube metadata generator page: type the idea there and it carries over to Publish (after you sign up or log in) and is written straight away.

What you get

  • Title, Description and Tags: each with Copy and Use. Use puts it into the form, replacing what's there, and turns into Used. Copy all copies the whole set.
  • Keyword: the main search phrase the AI aimed at. It's for you to copy (for example into your thumbnail text or the video itself); it isn't added to the post.
  • Popularity N/100: shown next to each field. It's the average popularity of the example videos that field drew on, on a logarithmic view scale: about 75 means around a million views, 100 means 100 million or more. It describes the examples, not a forecast for your video. It's missing when view counts couldn't be checked.
  • Based on these videos: up to four of the YouTube videos the suggestions learned from, with their view counts. The AI is told to learn from them without copying their titles.

How your text is posted

  • Hashtags go on the last line of the YouTube description and are also set as the video's tags. The first three show above your title on YouTube. Type a hashtag and press Enter (or a space or comma); the # is added for you. Up to 15.
  • Title is limited to 100 characters and Description to 4,500. The characters < and > are removed, since YouTube doesn't accept them.
  • The same text can be changed later in YouTube Studio once the video is uploaded.

To check how your title works with your thumbnail, go on to the AI audit.

AI audit

#Open

The AI audit scores a video before it goes out, so you can fix the opening or the packaging while it's still a draft. It's the Score step of the Publish planner and gives two scores out of 100: Hook score for Shorts, and Click appeal for any video. They use the same scoring as published videos get in Video analytics, so you can compare a draft with your past uploads and your competitors'.

How to run it

  1. Fill in the Title on the Details step (needed for click appeal), and upload a Thumbnail if you have one.
  2. On the Score step, add the video with Choose a video or Choose from my projects.
  3. Click appeal starts as soon as there's an image to score. Hook score starts once the video has finished uploading, if the Format is Short. Both run on their own; you don't press anything.
  4. Change the title or thumbnail and the click appeal card says Your title or thumbnail changed. Click Score again for a new score.

Neither score is required: you can click Next once the video is uploaded, while the scores are still running or whatever they say. The scores are saved with the post and shown on it in the Scheduled list.

Hook score (Shorts)

How strongly the first seconds make someone scrolling stop and keep watching. It looks only at the first 3 seconds: frames at 0, 0.5, 1 and 2 seconds, the opening words (transcribed), and the text on screen together with your title. It takes about a minute.

PartWeightWhat raises it
Visual50%The very first frame already shows something that grabs attention (a face with emotion, motion, a surprising object, strong contrast, a clear subject), and the video gets going right away, not with a slow intro, logo or blank screen
Opening words30%Words start immediately and create curiosity, tension, a promise or a question
Text20%On-screen text and the title promise a payoff that's clear and specific
  • No speech: when nothing is said in the opening, Opening words is left out and the other two share its weight.
  • What else you see: one sentence on the hook's biggest strength or weakness and how to improve it (in the language you're using VIDIO in), and the opening words as transcribed.
  • Long-form videos aren't hook-scored; the card says Hook score is for Shorts. If the video really is a Short, switch the Format on the Details step.

Click appeal

How likely viewers are to click, judged from the thumbnail and title together as they appear before anyone clicks. It takes a few seconds.

PartWeightWhat raises it
Thumbnail45%Readable at small size, one clear focal point, faces and emotion, contrast and colour, short readable text, curiosity
Title30%Clear and specific, curiosity or tension that isn't misleading, stakes or a benefit, readable length, important words first
Match25%Thumbnail and title make the same promise and add to each other, rather than repeating the same words or pointing at different things
  • The match caps the total: the overall score can't be more than 30 points above Match, so a strong thumbnail with an unrelated title still scores low.
  • No thumbnail uploaded? A frame from about 1 second into your video is scored instead, and the card says so. Upload your real thumbnail on the Details step to score that.

How to read the scores

ScoreLabelMeaning
70 to 100StrongClearly better than a typical video. 85 or more is rare.
50 to 69Average50 is a typical YouTube video
0 to 49Needs workLook at the lowest part first

The score is an AI's judgment of the packaging and opening, not a prediction of views. Clickbait that misleads is marked down. Use the parts to decide what to change: a low Visual usually means a slow first frame; a low Match means the thumbnail and title tell different stories.

Scheduling and best time

#Open

The Best time and Schedule steps of the Publish planner decide when your video goes live. VIDIO uploads the video to YouTube as soon as you confirm, as a private video with a publish time, and YouTube itself makes it public at that time. Scheduling works on every plan; the best-time analysis is on paid plans.

Best time: how it's chosen

On the Best time step, choose one of your tracked YouTube channels from the menu. VIDIO then compares when that channel's past uploads went out with how many views each got, alongside the uploads of up to 6 competitor channels VIDIO found for it.

  • Which channels are listed: the YouTube channels you track whose Tracking type is Self. If none is set to Self, all your tracked YouTube channels are listed, with a note saying so. With no tracked channel, use Track your channel to add one on Channels. See Tracking.
  • Time windows: each weekday is split into eight 3-hour windows in the time zone you pick, 56 in all.
  • Fair comparison: views are adjusted for channel size (subscribers when the video went out) and compared with what each channel usually gets, so a large competitor doesn't drown out a small channel. Your own channel's videos count most; competitors fill in where your channel has few uploads.
  • Views window: Most views in the first 3 days, 1 week, 1 month or 3 months after publishing. Only videos at least that old count. Where no reading at that age exists, views are estimated from current views and age.
  • Format: Shorts and long-form are analysed separately, following the Format you set on the Details step.
  • Results: up to three best windows, each with how many more (or fewer) views it gets than a typical upload, a High, Medium or Low confidence label (more of your own videos in that window means higher), and its next start date. Show every time window opens a heatmap of all 56.
  • Not enough data: a result needs at least 15 qualifying videos in total, at least 3 of them from your channel, and a recommended window needs at least 3 videos behind it. Otherwise the step says your channel doesn't have enough Shorts (or long-form videos) yet, and you can pick any time on the next step.

The results show patterns from past uploads, not a guarantee.

Schedule: what to set

  1. Publish on. Picking a window on the Best time step fills in its next start and shows From your best time to post. Otherwise the time starts on the hour, one to two hours from now, and you can pick any Date and time.
  2. Time zone. Defaults to your browser's. Changing it keeps the same moment and shows it in the new zone.
  3. Connect YouTube if the step asks. It opens Google in a new tab; see Connecting YouTube.
  4. After it goes live (optional, see below).
  5. Click Confirm schedule. The page moves to Scheduled and shows Scheduled. It is uploading to YouTube now.
  • Earliest and latest: at least 15 minutes from now, and within a year.
  • Each post uses one of your plan's scheduled posts for the month. See limits by plan.

What's posted to YouTube

  • Title and Description as written, with your hashtags on the description's last line and also set as tags.
  • Visibility: private until the publish time, then public. YouTube does the switch, so the video goes live on time even if you close VIDIO.
  • Thumbnail: your uploaded thumbnail, if any. YouTube only allows custom thumbnails on verified channels; if it's refused, the video is still scheduled and the post shows "The custom thumbnail was not set". The frame VIDIO scored for click appeal is never uploaded as a thumbnail.
  • Other settings: VIDIO marks the video as not made for kids, with the category People & Blogs. Change these, or anything else, in YouTube Studio.

After it goes live

Choose what VIDIO does once the post is public. The boxes start ticked when your plan has room.

  • Track (your channel's name): starts tracking the channel the video went to, so its future uploads are tracked automatically. Shows how many channel slots are free; if the channel is already tracked, it says so instead.
  • Track this video once it's live: records views, likes and comments every day for up to 30 days on Tracked content. Uses one video slot. When slots are full, Free a slot links there.
  • Email me when it's live: an email to your account address once the video is public. It follows Your post is live in Settings notifications; ticking it here turns it on for this post even if it's off there. See Notifications.

VIDIO checks YouTube for the video every few minutes after its publish time, for up to 7 days, and runs these once it's public.

Changing or cancelling a scheduled post

  • Once a video is on YouTube, change it in YouTube Studio: its time, title, description, thumbnail or visibility, or delete it. VIDIO can't remove it from your list, and trying says "This video is on YouTube. Change or delete it in YouTube Studio."
  • Changes made in Studio don't show in VIDIO. The list keeps the details and time you scheduled, and shows Published once that time passes.
  • Cancelling doesn't give the post back to your monthly allowance once it reached YouTube.
  • Failed posts have Retry (uploads again with the same details, as long as the publish time is at least 15 minutes away, and counts as a new post this month) and Remove. If the time has passed, schedule it again from New post.

Problems connecting or uploading: see Connecting YouTube, or ask us.

Connecting YouTube

#Open

To schedule from Publish, VIDIO needs permission to upload videos to your YouTube channel. You give it once through Google, and it stays connected until you disconnect it. Publishing is to YouTube only for now: TikTok and Instagram are listed as Coming Soon in Settings.

How to connect

  1. Connect from either place:
    • On the Schedule step of the Publish planner, click Connect YouTube in the box that says "VIDIO needs permission to upload videos to your YouTube channel."
    • In Settings → Integrations, click Connect on the YouTube card.
  2. Google's sign-in opens in a new tab. Choose the Google account that owns (or manages) the channel you want to post to, and allow the upload permission. Leave the box for it ticked if Google shows one: without it the connection fails.
  3. The tab shows YouTube connected and closes itself after a moment. Back on Publish, the Schedule step updates to YouTube connected when you return to its tab; if it doesn't, reload the page.

If your browser blocks the new tab, Google opens in the same tab instead.

What VIDIO can do with the connection

  • Upload videos to the channel with their title, description, tags, publish time and thumbnail. Upload is the only YouTube permission VIDIO asks for, and uploading is all VIDIO uses it for.
  • No read access: the connection doesn't let VIDIO read your channel's videos, comments or analytics. That's also why changes you make in YouTube Studio after scheduling don't show in your Publish list (see Scheduling).
  • Channel stats and best times come from public YouTube data and the channels you track, not from this connection. See YouTube analytics.
  • The same connection is used by Publish in your Projects list, which uploads a finished project straight to YouTube as private, unlisted or public.

One VIDIO account holds one YouTube connection. To post to a different channel, disconnect and connect again with that channel's Google account.

Disconnecting

  • Where: Settings → Integrations, Disconnect on the YouTube card.
  • What happens: VIDIO asks Google to withdraw its access and deletes the stored access token. Reconnecting later is the same as connecting the first time.
  • Videos already scheduled are on YouTube already, so they still go public at their time: YouTube does that, not VIDIO. To stop one, change or delete it in YouTube Studio.
  • Uploads in progress need the connection. Wait until the post shows Scheduled before disconnecting, or the upload can fail.
  • Removing access from your Google Account (its list of third-party apps) also works, but VIDIO only finds out on the next upload, which then fails. Reconnect to post again.

Explore channels and videos

#Open

Explore is where you look up any public channel or video, yours or a rival's, without connecting an account. Open Analytics in the left menu and pick Explore: the Channels tab is /analytics/channel and the Content tab is /analytics/video. Every page needs you to be signed in; signed-out visitors who search are sent to sign up first.

Pick a platform with the switch above the search box (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Spotify). A pasted tiktok.com, instagram.com, twitch.tv or open.spotify.com link goes to its own platform whichever one is selected.

  • YouTube name searches list up to 10 channels that match by name or handle under Channels matching your search, then Channels related to your topic: channels found through videos about what you typed. Type a topic ("budget travel") to discover channels you didn't know.
  • Spotify means podcasts. A show is the "channel" and an episode is the "video". Spotify publishes no follower, play or rating counts, so these pages are thinner; see Spotify analytics.
  • Searching is free. Only opening a page with fresh numbers costs anything (below).

What a lookup costs

Channel and video pages are paid with your free messages: every account, on every plan, gets 10 messages, topped back up to 10 every 30 days. When they run out, a monthly plan credit is used instead, then a purchased credit. See credits.

  • 1 message per fresh page. You're charged only when VIDIO has to fetch new numbers from the platform. Opening a page someone opened recently is served from saved data and costs nothing, as does revisiting or reloading it.
  • How long saved data lasts: a YouTube channel or video is saved for 7 days. TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and Spotify profiles are saved for 24 hours.
  • Refresh (the circular arrow next to Updated …) fetches new numbers once the saved ones are old enough: more than a day for YouTube, more than an hour for the other platforms. Before that it returns the saved page for free. A refresh that fetches new data uses 1 message.
  • Running low: a banner says Your free messages are running low. with the date they refresh. With no messages and no credits left you see You're out of free messages and credits., the search is turned off and links to other channels are disabled. Pages already saved still open.
  • The sample channel shown on Channels before you track anything is always free.

YouTube channel analytics

#Open

A YouTube channel's page shows how the channel is doing, how it publishes, what its viewers say and who it competes with. Search for it under Explore, or click View analytics on a channel you track. The On this page menu jumps between the sections below.

Where the numbers come from

  • Counts (subscribers, views, videos, each video's views, likes and comments) come from YouTube's official Data API: the same public numbers anyone sees on YouTube.
  • Scores and breakdowns use the channel's uploads from the last 12 months, up to its latest 300.
  • Freshness: a channel's page is saved for 7 days. Updated 3 days ago next to a section says how old it is, and its Refresh arrow fetches new numbers once they're more than a day old (1 message; see Explore).
  • History (the chart and the week-over-week arrows) comes from VIDIO's own daily readings, not from YouTube. They start the first time the channel is opened or tracked on VIDIO, so earlier days can't be shown.

Overview and stat cards

  • Subscribers, Lifetime views and Published videos: YouTube's current totals.
  • Channel health score: the average of the four scores below, out of 100. The dot is green at 70 or more, yellow from 40 to 69, red below 40.
  • Change vs. 7 days ago: the ▲/▼ percentage under each card compares today's reading with the one closest to a week earlier. Until a week of readings exists it says Change data becomes available 7 days after you start tracking this channel.

YouTube analytics scores

Four scores from 0 to 100.

ScoreHow it's worked out
View performanceSubscribers gained per year of the channel's age, on a logarithmic scale: about 1 million subscribers a year scores 100.
Audience engagementLikes plus comments divided by views across recent uploads. 5% or more scores 100.
Publishing consistencyHow often the channel uploads (35%; one upload a week or more scores full marks), how regular the gaps are (40%), and how long it's been since the last upload compared with its usual gap (25%).
Content reliabilityHow steady views are from video to video, after adjusting each video's views for its age. One hit among many flops scores low.
  • AI insight (Beta): a short note under the scores on what they mean together. It's rewritten when the scores change.

Channel performance

  • Periods: Last 30 days (daily points), Last 3 months and Last 6 months (weekly), Last year and Lifetime (monthly).
  • Cumulative or Daily: total views at each point, or the views gained that day.
  • Projection: views and subscribers 10 years out, with a likely range. It needs 30 days of history (N days to unlock until then), follows the last 90 days' pace with growth tapering over time, and is recomputed once a week.
  • No chart yet? Start tracking this channel begins the daily readings; the first point appears after one full day.

Publishing mix

  • Short-form vs. long-form: the share of uploads that are Shorts, for the last 7 days, month, 3 months, 6 months, year or lifetime. A video counts as a Short when YouTube serves it at a /shorts/ link.
  • Duration distribution: uploads from the past year by length (Under 1m up to 30m+).
  • Length vs. views: whether longer or shorter uploads get more views, with each upload's views adjusted for its age. It only names a pattern when it holds across the channel's uploads older than a week; otherwise it says there's no clear link.

Best time to publish

Paid plans only. The weekdays and 3-hour windows when uploads like this channel's get the most views, learned from its own uploads and its competitors', adjusted for channel size and video age. Choose Video format (Long-form or Shorts), Views window (3 days, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months) and Time zone.

  • Results: the top Best times with the expected change in views vs. a typical upload and a confidence level, a heatmap of Every time window, and how the channel's usual slot compares.
  • Cost: Find the best times uses 1 message or credit, only when a result comes back. Results are kept for 24 hours; opening them again is free.
  • Before you upgrade, every plan can see whether the channel has enough uploads for each format and window. A result needs at least 15 qualifying uploads, 3 of them the channel's own.

Comments, competitors and videos

  • Comment analysis starts on its own the first time anyone opens the channel. It reads the newest comments on recent videos, up to your plan's limit (500 on Free), and shows Viewer sentiment, Audience demographics (estimated from what commenters write), Top conversation topics, Viewer questions, Content requests, Common complaints, Positive feedback and Next video ideas. It's free and redone automatically about once a week. The N comments analyzed badge says how many the report read; if your plan allows more than that, Refresh in the badge reads up to your limit, also free.
  • Top competitors: up to six channels competing for the same audience. VIDIO reads the channel's topics and most popular videos, searches for similar channels, then filters by size, activity and language. Relevance combines AI similarity, shared topics and shared YouTube categories. Competitive distribution shows where this channel falls among them for subscribers, views and videos (Top N%). The list is saved and redone only when you refresh it, at most once a day. View more competitors opens the full list on paid plans.
  • Popular videos: six uploads, Most viewed or Newest first, with Top categories above them (AI labels for the top videos). Audit this video opens the video's page; View more videos lists every upload, 50 at a time.
  • Hook lab: shown on channels that post Shorts. It links to Publish, where a draft's opening is scored before it goes live.

TikTok analytics

#Open

TikTok accounts get the same analytics page as YouTube channels, in TikTok's terms: followers instead of subscribers, total likes instead of lifetime views. Pick TikTok under Explore and enter the exact @username or paste a profile link; a TikTok lookup finds one account, not a list.

Where the numbers come from

TikTok has no public API for creator statistics, so VIDIO reads the same public pages a browser loads: the profile page for the account's totals, TikTok's creator embed for its latest videos, and each video's page for likes, comments, shares, length and post time.

  • Only public accounts. Private, banned and deleted accounts can't be analyzed: you'll see We couldn't find this TikTok account.
  • Only the latest videos. TikTok shows only a creator's latest videos publicly (about 10), so the scores and the video list use those.
  • Freshness: a profile is saved for 24 hours. Refresh fetches new numbers once they're more than an hour old (1 message for a fresh fetch, see Explore).
  • History: VIDIO records followers and likes once a day for every account someone tracks or opened in the last 90 days. The chart appears once there are two days of readings.
  • If TikTok blocks a request you'll see TikTok isn't responding right now. Try again in a few minutes; nothing is charged.

The channel page

  • Stat cards: Followers, Total likes, Published videos and Channel health score (the average of the four scores), each with its change vs. 7 days ago once a week of readings exists.
  • TikTok analytics scores, 0 to 100:
ScoreWhat it measures
View performanceTypical views on the latest videos compared with the follower count
Audience engagementLikes, comments and shares relative to views on the latest videos
Publishing consistencyHow often and how regularly the account posts, and how long since the last post
Content reliabilityHow steady views are across the latest videos
  • Growth over time: total likes and follower growth, with the same periods, Cumulative / Daily switch and 10-year Projection as YouTube. The projection unlocks after 30 days of readings.
  • Hook lab: a link to Publish, where you can score a draft's first seconds before posting.
  • Comment analysis: sentiment, estimated demographics, topics, questions, requests, complaints and video ideas from the account's comments, up to your plan's comment limit. Free, and redone about once a week.
  • Top competitors: up to six TikTok accounts competing for the same audience, found with AI web search, each one checked on TikTok. The full list (View more competitors, paid plans) can be sorted Most relevant, Most followers, Most likes or Most videos.
  • Popular videos: the account's latest public videos, Most viewed or Newest first, with Audit this video to open each one.

A TikTok video's page

Open it from the account page or paste a video link on the Content tab. It shows Views, Likes, Comments, Shares, Engagement score and a Hook score for the first seconds. Details are in Video analytics.

  • Engagement score: likes, comments and shares divided by views. 15% of viewers interacting scores 100.
  • Photo posts (slideshows) are marked Photo post. Their cover and caption get a Click appeal score instead of a hook score, because there's no opening footage.
  • Compared with this creator's latest videos: views and engagement against the median of the creator's other latest videos.
  • Competing videos: videos from other TikTok creators on similar topics.

What TikTok doesn't have compared with YouTube

  • No Short-form vs. long-form split, duration distribution or length vs. views, since every TikTok post is short-form.
  • No Best time to publish. It's YouTube only.
  • No full upload history. The video list and View more videos only reach the latest public videos.
  • No lifetime views. The growth chart follows total likes, which is what TikTok publishes.

TikTok accounts count toward the same channel tracking limit as YouTube channels. Tracked accounts appear in the weekly report, and their new videos are added to Tracked content automatically while your plan has room.

Instagram analytics

#Open

Instagram accounts get the same analytics page as YouTube channels, built around reels: followers, reel plays, engagement and competitors. It's on every plan, Free included, at the usual 1 message per fresh page (Explore). Pick Instagram under Explore and enter the exact @username or paste a profile link; a lookup finds one account.

Where the numbers come from

Instagram has no public API for other people's accounts, so VIDIO reads what a signed-out browser sees: the account's Reels tab (profile, follower counts and the latest 12 reels with plays, likes and comments) and each reel's own page (post time, caption, length, current likes and comments).

  • Only public accounts. Private, banned and deleted accounts show We couldn't find this Instagram account.
  • Only the latest 12 reels. The scores, the reel list and Recent reel plays cover those: Instagram only shows an account's latest reels publicly, so the scores and this list use the latest N reels.
  • Plays stop updating on older reels. A reel's own page has no play count, so once a reel drops out of the latest 12 its plays can't be refreshed: Instagram only shows play counts for an account's latest reels, so plays of older reels can't be updated.
  • Posts comes from the profile's summary line, so above 10,000 it's rounded (like "32K").
  • Freshness: a profile is saved for 24 hours; Refresh fetches new numbers once they're more than an hour old.
  • History: followers are recorded once a day for accounts someone tracks or opened in the last 90 days, and reels opened in the last 30 days get daily plays, likes and comments for their chart.

The account page

  • Stat cards: Followers, Recent reel plays (plays of the latest 12 reels added up), Posts and Channel health score. The overview also shows how many accounts it follows.
  • Instagram analytics scores, 0 to 100:
ScoreWhat it measures
Reel reachTypical plays of the latest reels compared with the follower count
Audience engagementLikes and comments relative to plays on the latest reels
Publishing consistencyHow often and how regularly the account posts reels
Content reliabilityHow steady plays are across the latest reels
  • Follower growth: followers over time, Cumulative or Daily, with a 10-year Projection after 30 days of readings. Instagram doesn't publish an account's lifetime views, so there's no views chart.
  • Comment analysis: reads the top comments on the latest reels (Instagram shows about a dozen per reel to signed-out visitors), then gives sentiment, estimated demographics, topics, questions and video ideas like YouTube's. Free. If the reels don't have enough public comments it says so.
  • Top competitors: up to six Instagram accounts found with AI web search, each checked on Instagram. The full list (View more competitors, paid plans) can be sorted Most relevant, Most followers, Most plays or Most videos.
  • Latest reels with plays, and Audit this video to open each one.
  • Hook lab: a link to Publish to score a draft's opening.

A reel's page

Paste a reel or post link (instagram.com/reel/…) on the Content tab. Reel analytics shows Plays, Likes, Comments, Engagement score and Click appeal; see Video analytics.

  • Engagement score: likes plus comments divided by plays. 10% of viewers interacting scores 100.
  • Click appeal rates the cover and caption. Reels get no hook score: Instagram only plays reel footage in its own player.
  • Compared with this account's latest reels, Competing videos from other accounts, and comment analysis of the reel's top comments.
  • AI video review accepts reel links.

What Instagram doesn't have compared with YouTube

  • No lifetime views, Short-form vs. long-form split, duration distribution, length vs. views or Best time to publish.
  • No reel tracking. Reels can't be added to Tracked content, and new reels of a tracked account aren't added automatically. You can still track the account itself; it uses one channel slot.
  • No hook score on published reels.

Twitch analytics

#Open

Twitch channels get the same analytics page as YouTube channels, reworked for streaming: followers, streams and hours, views of recent broadcasts, how much viewers clip, and the categories a channel streams. Pick Twitch under Explore and type a channel name, or paste a twitch.tv link to open that exact channel.

Where the numbers come from

VIDIO reads Twitch's official API with its own app access. Nobody signs in to Twitch, and only public channel data is read.

  • Twitch deletes past broadcasts after 7 days (60 for Partners), so everything about streams covers only the videos Twitch still has. Highlights and uploads stay until the streamer deletes them. VIDIO reads up to a channel's latest 100 videos.
  • No lifetime views. Twitch doesn't publish a channel's total views, so the page uses the views of the last 30 days' videos instead.
  • Freshness: a channel is saved for 24 hours, and Refresh fetches new numbers once they're more than an hour old. Whether a channel is live is rechecked every 5 minutes.
  • History: followers and the 30-day counts are recorded every day for channels someone tracks or opened in the last 90 days; the reading runs hourly, so the day's live peak is kept too.

The channel page

  • Overview: Live now with the number watching and the category being streamed (or Last streamed …), Partner or Affiliate status, N h streamed in 30 days and N avg. views per stream.
  • Stat cards: Followers, Views (30 days), Streams (30 days) and Channel health score.
  • Twitch analytics scores, 0 to 100:
ScoreWhat it measures
Viewership reachTypical views of past broadcasts compared with the follower count, on a log scale: views equal to 10% of followers score 100
Clip engagementClip views relative to video views over the last 30 days
Streaming consistencyStream frequency, schedule regularity and recent inactivity
Viewership stabilityHow steady views are across past broadcasts

A past broadcast's views keep growing for about a day after the stream, so Viewership reach leaves out broadcasts younger than a day. Clip engagement rises quickly and then levels off: clip views equal to 5% of video views score about 63.

  • Follower growth: followers over time, Cumulative or Daily (followers gained), with a 10-year Projection after 30 days of readings.
  • Streams: Broadcasts vs. highlights (past broadcasts against highlights and uploads), Top categories (hours streamed and streams per category over the last 30 days), Stream length of past broadcasts (Under 1h to 8h+) and length vs. views.
  • Top competitors: up to six channels streaming the same categories to a similar-sized audience, from Twitch's own data (live streams and the most viewed recent videos in those categories). Relevance is how many categories they share and how close their follower counts are.
  • Broadcasts & highlights: the channel's videos, Most viewed or Newest first.

A Twitch video's page

Paste a link like twitch.tv/videos/123 on the Content tab. You see Views, Clips, Clip views, Clip engagement and Click appeal (thumbnail and title); see Video analytics.

  • Clip engagement: Twitch videos have no likes or comments, so this shows how much viewers clipped the video. Clip views equal to 5% of the video's views score about 63.
  • Compared with this channel's other videos: against videos of the same type (past broadcast, highlight or upload) that Twitch still has.
  • Competing videos: the most viewed recent videos from other channels in the same Twitch category.

What Twitch doesn't have compared with YouTube

  • No comment analysis. Twitch's API has no comments (chat isn't read).
  • No hook score, no AI video review of Twitch videos, and no Best time to publish.
  • No video tracking. Twitch videos can't be added to Tracked content, and a tracked channel's new streams aren't added automatically. You can track the channel itself, and it's included in the weekly report.
  • Old streams disappear. When Twitch deletes a past broadcast its page shows This video isn't available on Twitch.

Spotify podcast analytics

#Open

On VIDIO, Spotify means podcasts: a show is the "channel" and an episode is the "video". Use it to see how a podcast publishes (how often, how regularly, how long its episodes run) and which shows compete with it. Pick Spotify under Explore and search by podcast name, or paste an open.spotify.com/show link to open that exact show.

Where the numbers come from, and what's not there

VIDIO reads Spotify's official Web API with its own app access; nobody signs in to Spotify. That API publishes no follower, play, like, comment or rating counts for podcasts, and VIDIO doesn't scrape Spotify to get them. The page says so: Spotify shares less data than other platforms.

  • What it has: the show's episodes (the latest 100 at most), their release dates, lengths and types (full, trailer, bonus), the show's description, language, whether it's audio or video, and whether it's marked explicit.
  • Search returns at most 10 shows per search; paste the show's link if yours isn't among them.
  • Shows not available in VIDIO's region can't be found: We couldn't find this podcast on Spotify.
  • Freshness: a show is saved for 24 hours; Refresh fetches new data once it's more than an hour old (1 message for a fresh fetch).
  • History: the episode count is recorded once a day for shows someone tracks or opened in the last 90 days.

The podcast page

  • Overview: N h published in 30 days, New episode about every N days, Last episode …, and Audio podcast, Video podcast or Audio & video podcast, Explicit and the language when Spotify has them.
  • Stat cards: Avg. episode length, Episodes (30 days), Episodes (total) and Channel health score, the average of the two scores below.
  • Podcast analytics scores, 0 to 100:
ScoreWhat it measures
Release consistencyEpisode frequency, schedule regularity, and how long since the last episode
Episode length consistencyHow steady full episodes' lengths are. 100 means every episode runs the same length.
  • Episode count over time: total episodes, Cumulative, or Daily (episodes released). There's no 10-year projection for podcasts.
  • Episodes: Full episodes vs. short episodes (trailers, bonus episodes and anything under 15 minutes count as short) and Episode length of the latest episodes (Under 15m to 2h+).
  • Top competitors: up to six Spotify podcasts covering the same topics, in the same language, with a similar-sized catalog. AI writes topic searches from the show; the shows are real Spotify search results, ranked by how many searches found them, language and how close their episode count is. The full list (View more competitors, paid plans) can be sorted Most relevant or Most episodes.
  • Latest episodes, newest first. Episodes can't be sorted by popularity because there are no play counts.

An episode's page

Paste an open.spotify.com/episode link on the Content tab. Episode analytics shows:

  • Length and Click appeal, an AI rating of how inviting the episode's cover and title are.
  • Compared with this show's other episodes: Length vs. typical (against the median full episode) and Release order (how many of the show's episodes came out after this one, or Latest episode).
  • Competing videos: recent episodes from other Spotify podcasts on the same topics.

What Spotify doesn't have compared with YouTube

  • No audience numbers at all, so no reach or engagement scores, no views chart, no projection and no length vs. views.
  • No comment analysis, no hook score, no AI video review and no Best time to publish.
  • No episode tracking in Tracked content. You can track the show; it uses one channel slot and appears in the weekly report with its episode counts.

Video analytics

#Open

A video's page tells you how one upload is doing against its own channel and against videos competing for the same viewers. Paste a link on the Content tab of Explore (/analytics/video), or click Audit this video on a channel page. A fresh page uses 1 message; a YouTube video's numbers are then saved for 7 days, other platforms' for 24 hours.

This section describes a YouTube video. Other platforms show their own version of each card; see TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and Spotify.

The cards at the top

  • Views, Likes, Comments: YouTube's public counts. A hidden like count shows —.
  • Engagement score: how many viewers like or comment, from 0 to 100. It rises quickly and then levels off: a 5% interaction rate scores about 63, so 100 is almost impossible. Videos with very few views are scored lower until the numbers mean something.
  • Click appeal (long-form videos): an AI rating of how likely someone browsing is to click, from the thumbnail (45%), the title (30%) and how well the two work together (25%). The total can't be more than 30 points above that match, so a strong thumbnail with an unrelated title still scores low. The card shows Thumbnail N · Title N.
  • Hook score (Shorts, and TikTok videos): an AI rating of how strongly the first 3 seconds make a scrolling viewer stop, from the opening frames (50%), the spoken words (30%) and on-screen text (20%). With no speech, visuals and text share the weight. The card shows Visuals N · Voice N · Text N.
  • How to read both: 50 is typical, 70 is clearly strong, 85 or more is exceptional. Scores are saved for 30 days; a refresh can redo one after a day. Both are free on this page and use the same scoring as the AI audit in Publish, so you can compare a draft with what's already out.

Compared with this channel's typical video

Based on up to 30 of the channel's other recent uploads, preferring ones older than a week (newer ones are still gaining views). "Typical" means the median.

  • Views vs. typical: this video's views as a multiple of the typical video's, with Typical video: N views.
  • Engagement vs. typical: the difference in engagement points.
  • Rank by views: where it ranks among those videos, this one included.
  • This video is less than a week old, so its views are still growing. appears on new uploads.
  • At least 3 other uploads are needed; otherwise Not enough recent videos from this channel to compare yet.

Video performance

Views and engagement over the last 30 days, one point per day. Daily counts start the first time the video was opened on VIDIO, so earlier days can't be filled in: N of 30 days recorded. The chart appears once a second day of data comes in.

  • Track this video records it every day for 30 days without you opening the page, and lists it on Tracked content. It uses one of your plan's tracked-video slots; see Tracking.

Comments

Click Analyze audience to read up to your plan's limit of public comments and replies on this video (500 on Free, up to 20,000 on Studio), with no date limit. You get sentiment, estimated demographics, topics, questions, requests, complaints and ideas, as on the channel page. It's free. Refresh on a saved report reads more when your plan allows more than it read.

  • No public comments are available for this video. appears when comments are off or empty.

Competing videos and AI video review

  • Competing videos: six videos from other channels aimed at the same topics and viewer intent, with their current views, engagement and click appeal or hook score, and where this video falls among them. Each has Track. View more competing videos opens the full list on paid plans (20 at a time; the first 20 are free, each Find up to 20 more uses 1 message or credit).
  • AI video review: the page links to a review of the whole video, priced at Review this video · N credits, or Open your review if you already have one.

If something goes wrong

  • This video isn't available on YouTube: it was deleted or made private. If you tracked it, tracking stopped and the data collected so far is kept.
  • Showing the last saved data while YouTube is unavailable.: VIDIO couldn't reach YouTube, so the page shows the saved numbers. Try Refresh later.
  • Invalid YouTube video ID.: paste the full link or the 11-character ID.

AI video review

Pro plan and up#Open

AI video review watches your whole video, picture and sound, and writes a report moment by moment: the hook, where viewers are likely to leave, sound and picture problems, platform risks and what to fix first. Use it on a draft before you post, or on a published video to understand its numbers. It's under Analytics → AI video review (/analytics/review), which lists your past reviews.

See a sample (/analytics/review/sample) opens a real report made on a public MrBeast video. It's free and needs no account.

How to start a review

  1. Click New review. Choose how to add the video: Paste a link (one YouTube, TikTok or Instagram video), Upload a file (MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM, up to 60 minutes and your plan's file size limit), or From your projects (a video you uploaded to or exported from VIDIO).
  2. For a link, click Check video. VIDIO reads the video's length and shows Length, Price and You have N credits. Nothing is charged yet.
  3. Optionally set Where will you post it? (YouTube, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels) and a Title you plan to use, so the review can check the video matches it.
  4. Click Start review · N credits. The credits are taken now, and Reviewing your video shows each stage, from Getting the video to Writing the report. It usually takes a few minutes; you can leave the page and find the review in your list.

You can also start one from a video's analytics page (Review this video) or from the Score step of Publish, which reuses the file you already uploaded there.

Tracking channels and videos

#Open

Tracking tells VIDIO to keep recording a channel or video every day, so its history, week-over-week changes and growth projection build up whether or not you open its page. You don't need to own a channel to track it: track your own, your competitors' and anyone you watch. Tracked items live under Analytics → Tracked, with a Channels tab (/channels) and a Content tab (/tracked-content).

Limits by plan

PlanChannelsVideos tracked at once
Free15
Pro550
Business20500
Studio1002,000
  • One channel limit for every platform. YouTube channels, TikTok, Instagram and Twitch accounts and Spotify podcasts all count toward it.
  • Unavailable channels don't count. A channel deleted or suspended on its platform is marked Unavailable on YouTube (or TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Spotify), stops updating and frees its slot. You can remove it.
  • A video's slot frees itself when its 30 days of tracking end, or when you untrack it.
  • If your paid plan lapses, the Free limits apply until you renew. Nothing you track is deleted, but you can't add more while you're over the limit.

Track a channel

  • From its analytics page: click Track this channel in the Never miss an update banner.
  • From Channels: click Add a channel now (or Add another channel), pick the platform, search, and choose the channel.
  • From a competitor list: click Track on any competitor row.

Then choose its Tracking type (How does this channel relate to you?): Self, Competitor, Partner or Prospect or Market Watch. The type groups your channels on the Channels page and in the weekly report, whose summary compares your own channels with your competitors. Channels without one are listed under No type yet. Change it any time from the row's More actions menu, where Remove stops tracking.

When you're at the limit, Channel tracking limit reached opens: Your current plan lets you track up to N channels. Remove a channel you no longer need, or click Upgrade. After you upgrade, VIDIO rechecks your plan and continues with the channel you were adding. On Studio the button is Contact us for a custom limit.

What tracking a channel does

  • Daily readings: subscribers or followers, views and video count every day, and for YouTube channels the four scores. This fills the Channel performance chart, the Change vs. 7 days ago arrows (after 7 days) and the 10-year Projection (after 30 days).
  • New uploads are tracked for you (YouTube channels and TikTok accounts): once a day VIDIO checks for new videos and adds each to Tracked content, tracking it while your video limit has room. Past the limit it's listed with Auto-tracking failed and a Track button. Other platforms' new posts aren't added.
  • Emails: the weekly report on Mondays, and a daily email when a tracked channel posts something new (Email me when my tracked channels post new videos in notifications).

Track a video

  • From its analytics page: Track this video (YouTube and TikTok videos).
  • From Tracked content: click Track content and paste a link. It accepts YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Dailymotion and X links, but daily numbers are only collected for YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo and Dailymotion, and the analytics page only exists for YouTube and TikTok videos.
  • Automatically: new uploads of tracked channels (above) and posts you publish through Publish.

Each video is tracked every day for 30 days from when tracking starts: Tracking · Day N/30, then Finished · 30 days, and its data stays. Untrack pauses it (Stopped at day N); Resume tracking carries on from that day. A finished video can't be tracked again.

At the limit, Video tracking limit reached explains that each slot frees up when tracking finishes. Untrack a video or Upgrade.

Filters and problems

  • Tracked content filters by status (including Unavailable) and channel, and sorts by Recently added, Newest published or Oldest published.
  • Unavailable on YouTube: the video was deleted or made private, so tracking stopped. Its data so far is kept, and you can track it again once it's public.

Weekly report email

#Open

Once a week VIDIO emails you a briefing on the channels you track: how each one moved over the last seven days and the few things worth knowing. It's free on every plan and comes in the language you use VIDIO in.

When it arrives

  • Mondays, for everyone, after that day's readings are in. You won't get two within six days.
  • You get it once at least one tracked channel has a week of data: a reading from today and one from about seven days earlier. A channel you started tracking this week is listed as Collecting its first week of data, and if none of your channels has a week yet, no email is sent.
  • Only while it's switched on: Email me a weekly report for my tracked channels in Settings under Notification Preferences (see notifications). It's on for new accounts. Every email also ends with a Settings link to turn it off.

What's in it

  • Your weekly channel briefing, with the dates it compares and You follow N channels with their avatars.
  • This week at a glance: two or three sentences on the week across all your channels.
  • Key things to know: two to five points, most important first, such as how your own channel moved against its competitors or a competitor gaining fast. They're written by AI from the computed numbers only; it isn't given anything else, so it doesn't guess causes.
  • What changed in 7 days: every channel, grouped by tracking type (Your channels, Competitors, Partners & prospects, Market watch, Other channels). The first 20 are listed; the rest are summed up as +N more on your dashboard.
  • Each channel's name and picture link to its analytics page; See your dashboard opens your dashboard.

  • Health is the channel health score and its change in points.
  • Each channel shows its platform's logo before its name.

What it doesn't cover

  • Instagram accounts don't get week-over-week numbers in the report yet: they're listed as Collecting its first week of data however long you've tracked them. Their follower history is on their analytics page.
  • Individual videos aren't in the weekly report. New uploads of tracked channels come in the separate daily email, Email me when my tracked channels post new videos: the new videos found, which were tracked, and a closer look at the top one.

YouTube stats pages and Top YouTubers

#Open

VIDIO has a few public YouTube pages you can open without signing in: a channel and video search, and the Top YouTubers leaderboard. They lead into the full channel and video analytics, which need an account.

The public search pages

  • YouTube channel stats: See the story behind any channel. Type a channel name, @handle or topic keyword and click View channel stats. Signed out, you're asked to sign up first, then the search runs inside the app under Explore.
  • /youtube-stats/video: See the story behind any video. Paste a YouTube URL, Shorts link or video ID and click View video stats; it opens the video's page in the app.
  • Old channel and video links such as /youtube-stats/<channel> or /youtube-stats/video/<id> forward to the same pages under /analytics, which need you to be signed in. Opening one uses a message like any other fresh page (what lookups cost).

Top YouTubers

Top YouTubers is a public leaderboard of the most-subscribed YouTube channels. Open it from Resources → Top YouTubers in the site header, or Top YouTubers in the footer.

  • Ranked by subscribers, highest first, showing Rank, Creator (name and picture) and Subscribers. The top 100 are shown.
  • Filters: Country (63 countries) and Category (Autos & Vehicles, Education, Entertainment, Food, Gaming, Lifestyle, Music, News & Politics, Pets & Animals, Sports, Technology, Travel). Use one, both, or Clear filters. Each combination has its own address, such as /youtube-stats/top-youtubers/country/japan/category/gaming, so you can bookmark or share it.
  • Which channels are in it: channels VIDIO keeps statistics on, not every channel on YouTube. A channel's country and category come from VIDIO's channel records, so a channel without them only appears in the unfiltered list. If a channel you expect is missing, search for it instead.
  • How fresh it is: every channel's subscriber count is re-read from YouTube once a day. The leaderboard page itself is rebuilt at most every 4 days, so a ranking can be a few days behind the counts.
  • Click a creator to open their channel analytics. That page needs an account.

YouTube keyword research

#Open

Keyword research (Beta) takes one topic and tells you which ways of phrasing it look most worth a video: how much viewers watch videos on it, how crowded it is, and the balance of the two. Use it before you film, to choose the angle and the words for your title. It's at /youtube-keyword-research. You need to be signed in, and it costs nothing: no messages or credits.

How to use it

  1. Type a topic in the box, for example beginner home workouts, and click Research keyword. Signed out, you're asked to sign up first.
  2. Analyzing YouTube results shows while VIDIO works. It expands your topic and checks real YouTube results for each phrase, so it can take a minute.
  3. The Keyword report lists your phrase and related ones, up to 15, each with three scores, plus How these scores work at the bottom.

What it does

  • Expands your topic: AI writes related search phrases in the language of your topic, a mix of broad and specific, like a viewer would type them.
  • Looks at what's already on YouTube for each phrase: the videos that come up for it, with their views, upload dates and titles, read from YouTube.
  • Scores each phrase against the others in the same report. Scores are relative: a 70 means "strong among these phrases", not a fixed amount of searches.

The scores

ScoreWhat it's made ofHigher means
Demand50% how fast the typical video for the phrase gains views (views per day since upload), 30% the same for videos from the last year, 20% how many results there areMore viewers watch this topic
Competition50% how many views the typical result already has, 30% how many results use the exact phrase in their title, 20% how many results are from the last yearMore, bigger channels already target it
OpportunityDemand, cut by competition: at Competition 0 it equals Demand, at Competition 100 it keeps 45% of DemandBetter balance of demand against competition
  • Compare Opportunity when choosing. The list isn't sorted by score: your phrase comes first, then the related ones in the order they were written. High demand with high competition still scores well, but less than the same demand in a quiet niche.
  • These are relative estimates, not YouTube search volume. YouTube doesn't publish search counts, and the report says so.
  • A phrase with few results gets low scores and its numbers are less reliable. Try a broader topic if the report is empty: No keyword opportunities were returned. Try a broader topic.

Good to know

  • The same topic within 7 days returns the saved report (with its Generated … date) instead of a new one.
  • Results are for the United States and English by default, whatever language you type in.
  • Next steps: turn a phrase into a title, description and tags with the metadata generator, or check who already ranks for it with Explore (type the phrase as a topic to find related channels).

Free creator tools

#Open

The /tools pages for creators fall into two kinds. A few are working tools: you type into the page and get a result there. Most are front doors to a feature in the app: they explain it, show a real example, and their search box or button takes you into Explore, Publish or AI video review. Every tool needs you to be signed in when you run it; signed-out visitors are asked to sign up first and come back to the same page.

How the generators work:

  1. Describe your video idea in Describe your video idea (up to 2,000 characters) and click the button (Generate titles, Generate tags and so on).
  2. VIDIO turns the idea into a few searches, finds up to 12 real YouTube videos on the topic, reads their views, and writes the result from what those videos do well, without copying their titles.
  3. You get Your YouTube title (or tags, description…), each part with Popularity N/100: the average popularity of the example videos it drew on, on a logarithmic scale where 100 million views is 100. Inspired by successful examples lists those videos. Copy copies the text.
  • Cost: 1 of your 10 monthly free messages per result, or 1 credit once they're used up. You're charged only when a result comes back. See credits.
  • Want everything in one go, saved with your post? The AI metadata generator (/tools/youtube-metadata-generator) hands your idea to the Publish planner, where the same generator fills in a post you can schedule.

Plans compared

#Open

VIDIO has a Free plan (shown as Basic on the pricing page) and three paid plans: Pro, Business and Studio. Every paid plan is a subscription that adds credits each month; you pick how many credits when you subscribe. The pricing page shows the same plans, with a Create / Publish / Creator analytics switch to show the features of one area at a time and a full comparison table below.

Prices and credits

Each paid plan comes in three sizes. You can pay monthly or once a year; yearly costs 20% less.

PlanCredits a monthMonthlyYearly
Freenone (10 free messages)FreeFree
Pro20 / 80 / 160$10 / $15 / $30$96 / $144 / $288
Business400 / 800 / 1,200$50 / $100 / $150$480 / $960 / $1,440
Studio2,000 / 4,000 / 8,000$200 / $400 / $800$1,920 / $3,840 / $7,680
  • Prices are in US dollars here. The pricing page shows them in your local currency; use the currency menu to switch. You pay in the currency shown at checkout.
  • Yearly plans still get credits monthly. You pay for the year up front, and the month's credits are added every 30 days. See How credits work.
  • Need more? Larger or custom plans are arranged by the team: ask us with the Custom or enterprise plan topic.
  • One credit balance for everything. The same credits pay for editing tools, Publish and Creator analytics.

  • Uploads a day counts projects you start that day (running, finished or waiting), not files. On Free with no credits, the upload window shows how many of the 3 are left, and a fourth project is blocked until the next day.
  • The watermark is a small, faint VIDIO logo in the bottom-right corner of free exports.
  • Processing speed. While your account has credits, projects run on faster machines; Studio is offered the fastest ones first. A free account, or a paid one at 0 credits, uses the standard machines. Projects are processed in the order they're started, whatever the plan.
  • Free previews. Many tools let every plan preview or export a short part of the video for free. Each tool's section lists its free length.

Editing tools

  • Longer videos. Each tool has a longest video it will process, and some allow more on a higher plan. Each tool's section in this guide has its own limits table.
  • Higher resolution. Free exports most tools at up to 720p. Pro exports up to 1080p. Business and Studio export up to 4K on the tools that support it (VibeEdit, the blurring tools, Object Tracking, Video Background Changer, Video Sharpener, Video Stabilizer and Frame Interpolation). Video Upscaler and Face Enhancer go up to 4K on every paid plan.

Opening a fresh channel or video stats page uses 1 message, or 1 credit once your messages run out; a page you've already loaded is free to revisit. See Tracking and AI video review.

Choosing a plan

  • Trying VIDIO or editing the odd short clip: Free.
  • Regular editing at 1080p without a watermark: Pro. Pick the credit size from how many seconds of video you process a month and each tool's rate; the pricing page's Find out how many credits you need calculator does the sum.
  • 4K exports, longer videos, bigger VibeEdit projects, more tracked channels: Business.
  • High volume or a team processing many projects at once: Studio.

To switch, see Change your plan.

How credits work

#Open

Credits are how you pay for work in VIDIO. Paid plans add credits every month; the free plan has none, but every plan gets 10 free messages a month. Your balances are under Plan on the Settings Account tab, as Credits and Messages.

What uses credits

  • Editing tools charge per second of the video they process, at the tool's own rate. For example, at 0.2 credits per second, a 60-second video costs 12 credits. Each tool's section in this guide lists its rate.
  • You see the cost before anything is charged. When you start the paid part of a project, a window shows Credit balance and Credits required and says how many credits will be used for how many seconds. Click Okay to go ahead or Cancel to stop.
  • Once a project is paid for, you can download its premium result again as often as you like without paying again.
  • VibeEdit is charged once per project, at its first premium export, at the rate of the editing mode. Rerunning a paid project in a pricier mode charges only the difference; a rerun that analyzes the footage again charges that mode's full rate. See VibeEdit.
  • Importing from a YouTube link costs 1 credit per link, charged when you click Apply. You need at least 1 credit to use it, and the credit isn't returned if the video can't be downloaded. See Adding files.
  • AI video review costs 1 credit per started minute of video, at least 2. See AI video review.

What uses messages

Messages pay for the quick AI features. When your messages run out, a paid plan uses 1 credit for each one instead; on Free, the feature stops until your messages reset.

  • VibeEdit chat: 1 message per message you send. On Free, at most 5 per project.
  • AI metadata generator: 1 message per result. See Titles, descriptions and tags.
  • Channel and video stats pages: 1 message when a page has to be freshly loaded. A page you've already loaded is free to revisit, and refreshing more than once in the same visit is never charged twice. Loading more competitors or competing videos uses 1 each.
  • Best time to post: 1 message per fresh analysis; the result is kept for 24 hours.

The two kinds of credits

  • Plan credits are added by your subscription and reset every period. Unused plan credits don't roll over: at each renewal the balance is set to your plan's amount, not added to it.
  • Bonus credits are credits given to you outside the plan, for example for useful feedback. They don't expire at renewal and stay with you if you cancel.
  • Plan credits are spent first, then bonus credits. Credits in Settings shows both together.

When credits and messages reset

  • Monthly plans get their credits each time the subscription renews.
  • Yearly plans are paid once a year, but the credits are added every 30 days, each time replacing what's left from the previous 30 days.
  • Messages go back to 10 every 30 days, counted from the last reset. The reset is applied the next time you sign in or open the app after that date. The question-mark icon next to Messages in Settings gives the expected date.
  • When you upgrade, the difference between the new plan's credits and the old one's is added right away. See Change your plan.
  • If a renewal payment fails, your plan credits are set to 0 until a payment goes through. See Payments and invoices.

Running out

  • Not enough credits appears instead of the cost window when the project costs more than you have. Buy credits opens the plan picker, where you can subscribe or move to a bigger plan; Maybe later closes it.
  • Credits can't be bought on their own. There are no one-off credit packs; more credits come from a bigger plan or the next renewal.
  • Already-running projects aren't affected: credits are taken when a project starts, not while it runs.

When credits come back

  • Failed runs are refunded automatically. When a project or AI video review fails, what it was charged goes back to your monthly credits within about a minute. Cancelling a project yourself doesn't return credits. See Refunds.

Free credits

  • Send feedback (bottom of the left menu) opens the feedback form. Suggestions the team finds useful earn 30 credits.
  • Report a problem with the bug report form. A report that helps fix an issue earns 15 credits.

Credits from these are added by the team to the VIDIO account with the email you entered in the form.

Change your plan

#Open

You can subscribe or upgrade yourself at any time from Settings. Moving to a smaller plan, fewer credits or monthly billing from yearly is done by the team on request.

Subscribe from the free plan

  1. Open Settings and click Upgrade under Plan on the Account tab. You can also click Buy plan on the pricing page.
  2. In Select a plan, choose Pro, Business or Studio, the number of credits, and monthly or yearly billing. The summary shows your Credit balance now and what you'll have After checkout.
  3. Click Buy plan. Checkout opens in a new tab. Enter your payment details and confirm.
  4. You'll see Your payment was successful. Your plan and credits are active straight away, and the billing date is today's date: the subscription renews on the same day each month (or year).

You're charged again automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.

Upgrade a paid plan

An upgrade is any move to a higher plan (Pro to Business, Business to Studio), to more credits on the same plan, or from monthly to yearly billing.

  1. Open Settings and click Upgrade under Plan. On the pricing page, Buy plan sends you back to this button if you're already subscribed.
  2. Pick the new plan and credits. Your current one is marked (current plan).
  3. The window shows a Prorated charge: the amount for the rest of your current billing period on the new plan, after what you already paid is taken into account. It also shows your credits After checkout.
  4. Click Buy plan and pay the prorated charge in the checkout tab. Upgrades are paid by card.

What changes right away:

  • Credits. You get the difference between the new plan's credits and the old plan's, added to what you have left. For example, moving from Pro-80 with 30 credits left to Business-400 leaves you with 30 + (400 − 80) = 350 credits.
  • Limits. The new plan's file size, video length, resolution and other limits apply immediately. If a page still shows the old ones, click the refresh button in Settings or sign out and back in.
  • Billing date. It stays the same, and from the next renewal you pay the new plan's full price. Switching from monthly to yearly is the exception: your yearly period runs one year from when your subscription started.
  • Receipt. The payment appears in the Billing tab as Plan upgrade (prorated).

Downgrade or switch to monthly

  • Not self-serve. In Select a plan, a smaller plan, fewer credits, or monthly billing when you're on yearly can't be bought: the button is disabled, with Please contact us for plan change.
  • How to ask. Send a billing request with your current plan and the one you want. The team confirms by email when the change takes effect.
  • Stopping completely is a cancellation, not a downgrade. You can do that yourself: see Cancel your subscription. When the paid period ends, the account returns to Free.

If something goes wrong

  • The button is greyed out. You picked your current plan, a downgrade, or a plan whose credits wouldn't cover the project you came from (The chosen plan would not cover the credits required for this project.). Choose a different option.
  • The plan didn't change after paying. Click the refresh button next to the Settings heading. Payments by bank debit take several business days and show Payment processing until they clear; see Payments and invoices.
  • The checkout failed. You'll see Your payment didn't go through. Nothing was changed; try again or use another card.

Compare what each plan includes in Plans compared.

Payments and invoices

#Open

All payments go through Stripe, VIDIO's payment provider. You enter your card or bank details on Stripe's checkout, so VIDIO never sees or stores your full card number. Your payment history is on the Billing tab of Settings.

Ways to pay

  • New subscriptions can use the payment methods Stripe offers for your country and currency at checkout, such as cards and, in some countries, SEPA Direct Debit.
  • Upgrades (the prorated charge) and changing your payment method take cards only.
  • Currency. You pay in the currency shown at checkout; pick it with the currency menu on the pricing page.
  • Tax is calculated by Stripe at checkout from your billing details, where it applies.
  • Promotion codes can be entered at checkout when you subscribe.

Change your payment method

  1. Open Settings and find Plan on the Account tab.
  2. Click Payment method. A secure Stripe page opens in a new tab.
  3. Enter the new card and confirm. You'll see Your payment method is updated. Your plan, credits and billing date stay the same.

If you close the Stripe page instead, you'll see Payment method change canceled and your current card stays on file. Payment method only appears on a paid plan that you haven't cancelled.

Invoices and receipts

The Billing tab lists Transactions: each row has the Date, a Description and the Amount, plus a link.

DescriptionWhat it is
New subscriptionYour first payment for a plan.
Subscription renewalAn automatic monthly or yearly renewal.
Plan upgrade (prorated)The prorated charge for an upgrade.
Subscription changeAnother change to your subscription, such as one the team made on request.
  • The link is View invoice (Stripe's invoice page), Download PDF or View receipt, depending on the payment. It opens in a new tab.
  • Payments from every subscription you've had with your account's email are listed.
  • Company name, address or tax ID on an invoice: send a billing request with the details and the payment's date.
  • No transactions found. means no payments were made with this account's email. If you paid with another account, sign in with that one.

Bank debits that take days

If you paid by SEPA Direct Debit, you'll see Your SEPA Direct Debit has started after checkout, and your plan shows Payment processing. Your bank takes about 5 to 7 business days to complete the payment. Your credits are added once it clears, and you get an email when it's done. Until then, Cancel, Payment method and Upgrade are disabled.

When a renewal fails

  • What you'll see. Your plan shows Renewal failed under Plan in Settings.
  • What it means. Your plan credits are set to 0 and no new credits are added until a payment succeeds. Stripe tries the payment again over the following days.
  • What to do. Check that your card is valid and has funds, or update it with Payment method. When a retry succeeds, the warning disappears and your credits are added.
  • Need it working now? Send a billing request and say your renewal failed.

Seeing old limits after paying

Click the refresh button next to the Settings heading, or sign out and back in, so your account picks up the new plan. If it still shows the old plan after a few minutes, send a billing request with the time you paid.

Cancel your subscription

#Open

You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Settings. Cancelling stops all future charges; the plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. To leave VIDIO completely instead, see Delete your account, which also cancels the subscription.

How to cancel

  1. Open Settings. On the Account tab, under Plan, click Cancel.
  2. Was our service not good enough? asks whether you'd like help first. Contact me asks the team to email you at your account address before you cancel (the button changes to Contact requested); nothing is cancelled. Proceed with cancellation continues.
  3. Why are you canceling your plan? Pick the main reason: Too expensive, I am not using it enough, Missing features I need, Not satisfied with quality / results, Performance is too slow or Other. Click Next, or Keep my plan to stop here.
  4. Are you sure? shows the date your plan stays valid until. Click Yes, I'm sure, or Back to change your reason.

When it's done, the plan line in Settings reads valid until and the date. The Cancel, Payment method and Upgrade buttons disappear.

If cancelling fails, the window says Please contact us: send a billing request and the team will cancel it for you.

Refunds

#

If a project fails, the credits it was charged are returned automatically, within about a minute of it stopping. Refunded credits always go back to your monthly credits, whichever balance they were taken from, so they're used up or reset with your plan's next renewal like other monthly credits.

What's refunded

SituationWhat happens
AI video review failsThe credits go back automatically to your monthly credits. A review that's still unfinished after 6 hours is refunded when you open it.
An editing or VibeEdit run failsThe project shows Halted, and exactly what that run was charged goes back to your monthly credits automatically, once. Free previews and watermarked runs cost nothing, so there's nothing to return. If a change to a VibeEdit project needed a different editing mode, only the extra charge for that change is returned.
The result is broken (corrupted file, missing parts, clearly wrong output caused by a processing error)Ask for a refund. Approved refunds are added as credits.
You were charged for a project that never ranAsk for a refund.

What isn't refunded

  • Subscription payments, including renewals and the prorated charge for an upgrade. Each payment unlocks a period of credits and plan features. Cancel to stop future payments; the current period isn't refunded.
  • Unused plan credits when your period ends or you cancel.
  • Projects you cancel yourself with Cancel processing. Cancelling stops the work but doesn't return credits already used, so check the cost window before you start.
  • YouTube link imports that fail because the video is private or restricted. The 1 credit for the link isn't returned.
  • Results that work as intended but aren't to your taste, such as the clips VibeEdit picked or the style of a blur. Use the tool's free preview, where it has one, before paying.
  • Problems caused by the file, such as a corrupted upload or an unsupported codec, or by settings you chose.

How to ask for a refund

  1. Open the billing form. The topic Billing, refunds or plan changes is already selected.
  2. Use the email address of your VIDIO account, so the team finds the right account.
  3. In the message, include the project's name or link (open it from Projects), the tool, roughly when you ran it, and what went wrong. Copy the exact error message if there was one; the form takes text only, up to 5,000 characters.
  4. Click Send. The answer comes by email. Approved credits are added to your account; check Credits in Settings, using the refresh button if needed.

For problems with a project that hasn't failed yet but seems stuck, see Processing problems first.

Account and privacy

Settings, connected accounts, emails and your data.

Settings

#Open

Settings holds your account details, your plan, the services you've connected and your payment history. Open it from the menu under your profile picture or go to /settings. It has three tabs, and each has its own link you can bookmark: Account, Integrations and Billing.

  • The refresh button (the circular arrow next to the Settings heading) reloads your plan, balances and payment history. Use it right after paying, upgrading or cancelling if the page still shows the old state.
  • Sign-in required. Settings only shows your details while you're signed in.

Account tab

Personal Information

  • Name and Email come from the Google account you signed in with. They're shown read-only: VIDIO has no way to change them, and the email is where every VIDIO email goes.
  • Log out signs you out on this browser.

Plan

  • Plan name. Free plan is the free plan. Paid plans show the plan and its monthly credit option, for example Pro-80 Plan or Business-400 Plan.
  • The line under the plan name tells you where the plan stands:

Payment processingYour bank is still processing a payment, which usually takes 5 to 7 business days. You'll get an email when it's done. The plan buttons are disabled until then.
Renewal failedThe renewal payment didn't go through. Your plan credits are set to 0 until a payment succeeds. See Payments and invoices.
  • Credits is your whole credit balance (this period's plan credits plus any bonus credits), shown to three decimals because many tools charge fractions of a credit per second. See How credits work.
  • Messages is how many free messages you have left. They're reset to 10 every 30 days, counted from the last reset; the reset is applied the next time you sign in or open the app after that. The question-mark icon shows an estimated reset date, which can be a day or two off from the real one. See How credits work.
  • Cancel starts cancellation. Payment method opens a secure Stripe page in a new tab to change your card. Both appear only on a paid plan.
  • Upgrade opens the plan picker. It's there on every plan. See Change your plan.
  • After you cancel, the three buttons are hidden until the plan ends.

Each row shows the Date, Description and Amount, and a link to View invoice, Download PDF or View receipt. No transactions found. means you haven't paid for anything on this account. See Payments and invoices.

Cancelling, changing your card and upgrading are not on this tab. They're on the Account tab, under Plan.

Other things you might look for

  • Tracked channels have their own page, Channels. The old Settings link to them now opens that page. See Tracking.
  • Changing your email or name isn't possible in VIDIO, since both come from Google. To use a different address, sign up with that Google account; credits and projects don't move between accounts. If you need help, ask us.

Connected accounts

#Open

Connections let VIDIO reach your files on Google Drive or Dropbox and publish to your YouTube channel. They're all optional and listed on the Integrations tab of Settings. Connecting a service is separate from signing in: you sign in to VIDIO with Google, but that doesn't give VIDIO access to your Drive or your YouTube channel.

What you can connect

ServiceWhat VIDIO uses it forWhat VIDIO can access
Google DriveImporting videos and folders into VibeEdit from a shared Drive link.Only the files and folders you pick or open with VIDIO, plus your Google name, email and profile picture. Not the rest of your Drive.
DropboxImporting videos and folders into VibeEdit from a Dropbox shared link. What you share with VIDIO through those links. VIDIO keeps the connection until you disconnect, so you don't have to reconnect for each import.
YouTubeUploading and scheduling videos on your channel from Publish.Permission to upload videos to the channel you choose. VIDIO doesn't read your other videos, comments, subscribers or private analytics, and doesn't edit or delete videos on your channel.

Frame.io, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn also have cards, marked Coming Soon. They can't be connected yet, and Publish only posts to YouTube.

Connect a service

  1. Open Settings and go to the Integrations tab.
  2. Click Connect on the card. The service's own sign-in and consent page opens in a new tab.
  3. Sign in to the account you want to use and allow access. The tab returns to VIDIO and shows that the connection worked.
  4. Back on Settings, the card's button now reads Disconnect. If it doesn't, click the refresh button next to the Settings heading.

You can also connect while you work: the Shared drive tab of VibeEdit's import window shows Connect Google Drive or Connect Dropbox when the account isn't connected yet, and Publish has its own button to connect YouTube.

Importing from Drive and Dropbox

  • VibeEdit only. The Shared drive import tab works in VibeEdit. In other tools it shows Shared drive not available; upload from your device instead. See Adding files.
  • Google Drive links can be a single MP4 or MOV file shared with anyone who has the link, or a folder. To choose from your Drive instead of pasting a link, put the files in a folder and click Pick.
  • Dropbox links can be shared files or shared folders.
  • No file size limit applies to these imports, unlike uploads from your device.
  • If an import fails with Shared folder error., make sure the file or folder is shared publicly and not restricted, then try again.

Disconnect

  1. Open the Integrations tab in Settings.
  2. Click Disconnect on the card. The button changes back to Connect.

Disconnecting deletes VIDIO's stored access for that account and asks Google or Dropbox to revoke it. It doesn't delete anything you already imported or published:

  • Imported files stay in your projects. Delete the project if you want them gone; see Projects.
  • Videos you published stay on YouTube. Change or delete them in YouTube Studio.
  • Posts still scheduled in Publish need the YouTube connection to go out. Reconnect before their time, or cancel them in Publish.

Remove access from the service's side

You can also cut VIDIO off from the other side at any time:

  • Google (Drive and YouTube): open your Google Account's connections page, choose VIDIO and remove its access.
  • Dropbox: open your Dropbox account settings, find VIDIO under connected apps and remove it.

Removing access there stops VIDIO from reaching the account, but the Settings card can still show Disconnect until you click it. Click it to clear VIDIO's side too. Deleting your VIDIO account removes all connections. More on what's kept: Your data and privacy.

Email notifications

#Open

VIDIO emails you when a project needs your attention and, if you track channels, with regular reports. You choose which emails you get in Settings under Notification Preferences on the Account tab. Every email goes to the Google address you signed in with; you can't send them to another address.

How to change them

  1. Open Settings. The Account tab opens first.
  2. Scroll to Notification Preferences. Each email has its own checkbox, with a line under it saying what it covers.
  3. Tick or untick the boxes, then click Save. You'll see Preferences saved. Nothing changes until you click Save: leaving the page without saving keeps your old choices.

Every box is ticked for a new account. The choices belong to your account, not your browser, so they apply wherever you sign in.

Email me a weekly report for my tracked channelsOnce a week, on Monday, while you track at least one channel that has a week of data. See Weekly report.
Email me when my tracked channels post new videosOnce a day, only on days when a channel you track posted something new.
Your post is liveWhen a post you scheduled in Publish becomes public, with what VIDIO started tracking for it.
  • One switch per kind of email. Email me when export is ready to download covers every tool at once. You can't turn it on for one project or one tool only.
  • The daily new-video email lists how many new uploads were found on the channels you track, how many VIDIO started tracking, and how many it couldn't because you've reached your plan's tracked-video limit. It also spotlights one video, the most viewed new upload (your own channels come first), with its views, likes and comments. Nothing is sent on a day with no new videos, and you get at most one a day.
  • The weekly report covers every channel you track, grouped by how you labelled them (your own, competitors, and so on), with what changed over the week. A channel that doesn't have a week of daily numbers yet is listed as still collecting data.
  • Your post is live can also be switched per post. When you schedule a post in Publish, Email me when it's live starts ticked if this box is ticked. Untick it there to skip the email for that one post, or tick it to get the email for that one post even while this box is off.
  • A cancelled project. If VIDIO stops a project because it took too long, the email saying so follows Email me when analysis is finished. See Processing problems.

Emails you can't turn off here

  • Replies from support. When you ask us something, the answer comes by email to the address you typed in the form.

Not getting an email

  • Check spam and promotions. Mark one VIDIO email as not spam so the next ones arrive in your inbox.
  • Check the box is ticked and saved. Open Notification Preferences again and look at the box. If it's unticked, tick it and click Save.
  • Check the right account. The email goes to the address shown under Personal Information on the same tab.
  • You don't need the email to get your file. A finished project is always on the Projects page. See Projects and downloads.

Your data and privacy

#

This section sums up what VIDIO keeps and why, in plain terms. It comes from the privacy policy, which is the full and binding version; where the two differ, the policy wins. The same rules apply on every plan.

What's stored

  • Your account. Your name and email address from the Google account you sign in with (VIDIO only offers Log in with Google), your plan, your credit and message balances, and your settings such as email notifications.
  • Your files. The videos, images and audio you upload, and the results VIDIO makes from them. You keep all rights to them: VIDIO processes them only to do what you ask (editing, rendering, previews, exports) and to keep the service working and secure.
  • Your projects. Each project's tool, options and status, plus anything you typed into it, such as VibeEdit chat messages or a YouTube link you imported.
  • Analytics you set up. The channels and videos you track and the search terms and links you enter. The numbers shown come from public channel and video data.
  • Connected accounts. For Google Drive, Dropbox and YouTube (see Connected accounts), the access tokens needed to use them and the permissions you granted.
  • Payment details. Card details are entered on Stripe's page and stored by Stripe, not by VIDIO. VIDIO keeps the record of what you paid for. See Payments and invoices.
  • Usage and device data. Your IP address, browser, device, approximate location from your IP (country, region or city, never GPS), and logs of what you did in the app, used for security, fixing errors and understanding how VIDIO is used.

How long it's kept

DataKept for
Uploaded mediaUntil you delete it, or your account is closed
Account dataAs long as you have the account, plus 30 days
Publishing connections (YouTube)Until you disconnect the account or delete your VIDIO account
System logsUp to 90 days
Support messagesUp to 24 months
Billing records7 years, because the law requires it
BackupsUp to 30 days
  • After you delete your account or send a written request, your data is deleted or anonymized within 90 days, except what the law requires VIDIO to keep. See Delete your account.
  • Deleting a project or file removes it from your Projects or Files list for good; you can't get it back. The stored copy itself is removed when your account is deleted. To have specific files erased from storage sooner, send a privacy request.

Who can see it

  • Not other users. Your files, projects and tracked channels are only visible in your own account.
  • VIDIO's authorized staff, for support and to fix problems, under confidentiality.
  • Service providers that run parts of VIDIO, such as cloud hosting and storage, payments, email delivery, analytics and security monitoring. They may only use the data to provide their service to VIDIO. The current list is on the subprocessors page.
  • YouTube, when you publish. When you schedule a post in Publish, the video and the details you set are sent to YouTube. Once it's posted, YouTube's own terms apply.
  • Authorities, only where the law requires it.

VIDIO doesn't sell your data and doesn't use YouTube or Google data for advertising.

AI training

  • Your files aren't used to train AI. VIDIO doesn't use your uploads or results to train, fine-tune or improve general-purpose AI models, or to build training datasets, unless you explicitly opt in or agree in writing.

Security

  • Encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to the people and systems that need it.
  • If a breach affects your personal data, you'll be told without undue delay and within 72 hours of VIDIO becoming aware of it.

Get a copy, correct or delete your data

  1. Send a privacy request. Use the email address on your VIDIO account and say which data the request is about and what you want: a copy, a correction, or deletion.
  2. VIDIO may ask you to confirm the account is yours before acting.
  3. The answer comes by email. A copy of your data can be provided in a common machine-readable format such as JSON or CSV.

To remove one kind of data yourself instead, delete the project, disconnect the service under Connections, or delete your account. Disconnecting stops new access; it doesn't delete what was already imported.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, Switzerland or Canada), you may have more rights, such as restricting processing or complaining to your data protection authority. The privacy policy lists them. VIDIO doesn't knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Delete your account

#Open

Deleting your account closes it for good: you're signed out, your projects and files disappear, and the account can't be restored. If you only want to stop paying, cancel your subscription instead and keep everything.

Before you delete

  • Download what you want to keep. Open Projects and use Download Output on each finished project. After deletion there's no way to get them back.
  • Your subscription is cancelled for you, as the first step of the deletion. You won't be charged again. The rest of the current period isn't refunded, and you lose what's left of it.
  • All your credits are lost, plan and bonus credits alike. If you sign up again later, you start with 0 credits.
  • Scheduled posts in Publish won't go out. Videos already on YouTube stay there.
  • You can't sign up again with the same Google account for 24 hours. Trying shows This account was recently deleted with the time you can sign up again.

How to delete your account

  1. Open Settings. The Account tab opens first.
  2. Scroll to the bottom, to Delete account, and click Yes, delete my account.
  3. Are you sure? reminds you about the 24-hour wait. Click Delete my account to confirm, or Cancel to keep your account.

You're signed out straight away.

If deleting fails, the window says Please contact us. Nothing is deleted in that case, including your subscription: send an account request and the team will finish it for you. This happens most often when the subscription can't be cancelled automatically.

What happens to your data

  • Right away: your account, projects, files and tracked channels disappear from VIDIO, and your connections to Google Drive, Dropbox and YouTube go with them.
  • Your uploaded and output files are erased from storage in a monthly cleanup.
  • Within 90 days your data is deleted or anonymized, except what the law requires VIDIO to keep, such as billing records (kept for 7 years). Backups are overwritten within 30 days.

The details are in Your data and privacy and the privacy policy.

Can't sign in to delete it?

Send a privacy request from the email address of the account and ask for it to be deleted. The team may ask you to confirm it's your account first.

Upload problems

#

Most upload errors show a window with a short title and an explanation. Find the title below. The limits behind them are explained in Adding files.

Error messages

What you seeWhyWhat to do
File size is too big. / Total file size is too big.The file, or all files together, is over your plan's limit: 1 GB on Free, 4 GB on Pro, 8 GB on Business, 16 GB on Studio.Compress or trim the video, upgrade (Plans compared), or in VibeEdit import it through Shared drive, which has no size limit.
Unsupported file format. The tool doesn't take this kind of file. Video tools take MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, MPEG, MPG, WEBM and animated GIF; images only work in tools that accept them.Convert the file to MP4, or use a tool that takes images.
Unsupported codecA MOV file uses a codec VIDIO can't read.Convert it to H.264 (most video converters and editors can export it) and upload again.
Video is too short or too long. The video is outside what this tool accepts at all. The message gives the allowed range.Trim the video, or split it into parts.
Video is too long under your current plan.A higher plan accepts this length.Trim it, or upgrade. Each tool's section lists its limits by plan.
Upload limit reached. / Upload limit reached under your current planToo many files for this tool, or for your plan in this tool.Remove some files, or upgrade for a higher count.
Image upload limit reached.More images than your plan allows in one project (VibeEdit: 50 on Free, 200 Pro, 800 Business, 4,000 Studio).Remove some images, or upgrade.
Images not allowed. The option you chose works on video only.Go back and remove the images.
Daily upload limit reachedOn Free without credits you can start 3 projects a day.Wait until the next day, or upgrade for unlimited projects.
Max running jobs reached. You already have as many projects processing as your plan allows (1 on Free, 2 Pro, 5 Business, 10 Studio).Wait for one to finish on Projects, or cancel one.
Upload error. The upload was interrupted, usually by the connection.Check your connection and try again.
Uploade failedThe file couldn't be read.Make sure the file plays on your computer and isn't damaged, then try again.

Google Drive, Dropbox and YouTube imports

  • Shared drive not available means the tool doesn't take shared-drive imports; only VibeEdit does. Upload from your device instead.
  • Connect Dropbox / Connect Google Drive appears when the account isn't connected. Click it and allow access. See Connected accounts.
  • Shared folder error. VIDIO couldn't open the shared file or folder. Set its sharing so anyone with the link can view it, and check that it isn't restricted to your organization.
  • Google Drive file links must point to an MP4 or MOV file. For other formats, put the file in a folder and import the folder.
  • Cloud video download error shows on the project when VIDIO couldn't download the file from Drive or Dropbox. Check the sharing settings and start a new project.
  • YouTube video download error means the YouTube video is private, restricted or removed. The 1 credit for the link isn't returned. Use a public video, or download it yourself and upload the file.
  • Credits are required to import a YouTube link means your balance is below 1 credit. See How credits work.

The upload seems stuck

  • Uploading ... N% going up slowly is normal for big files on a slow connection. Keep the tab open; closing it or putting the computer to sleep stops the upload.
  • Upload complete. Please wait. and Loading ... can take a few minutes for large files, while VIDIO prepares the preview. You can't cancel at this point; wait for the next step.
  • Nothing happens after you drop a file. Check that the file type is accepted, then use Browse file instead of dragging.
  • On a phone, Video Background Changer and Auto Background Remover don't open at all (Mobile devices are not supported). Use a computer.
  • Still stuck? Reload the page. Your file may already be on the Files page; reuse it from the Uploaded file tab instead of uploading again.

If none of this helps, contact support with the tool, the file's format, size and length, and the exact error message.

Processing problems

#

Processing is the part after upload, when the AI works on your video. Its progress shows on the Projects page. This section covers projects that wait too long, stop, or fail. What each status means is in Projects and downloads.

A project stays In queue

  • Projects are processed in the order they're started, on the next free server. When many people are processing at once, the wait grows. The project starts on its own; you don't need to do anything.
  • Your running limit counts. Free processes 1 project at a time, Pro 2, Business 5 and Studio 10. A project waits while your others run.
  • Speed depends on your balance. While your account has credits, projects run on faster machines. Free accounts, and paid ones at 0 credits, use the standard ones, which can be slower and busier.

A project is slow or stuck at a percentage

  • Long and high-resolution videos take longer. Processing time grows with length, resolution and the tool: VibeEdit, background removal and upscaling are among the slowest.
  • The percentage doesn't move evenly. Some steps take most of the time, so a project can sit at one number for a while and then jump.
  • You don't need to keep the page open. Processing happens on VIDIO's servers. Turn on Email me when analysis is finished and Email me when export is ready to download in Email notifications to hear when it's done.
  • Cancelled for taking too long. On the standard servers (used by accounts with no credits), a project that runs for more than 2 hours is stopped and set to Cancelled, and you get an email, Your project was canceled. On the faster servers, long projects keep running until they finish. Try a shorter video, or split it.
  • Stuck for hours? Contact support with the project's name and the tool. Don't start the same project again and again: each start counts toward your daily and running limits, and paid starts use credits.

Cancel a project yourself

  1. Open Projects and click ⋮ on the project.
  2. Click Cancel processing. You'll see Cancellation request is processing…, then The project is now canceled.
  3. The status changes to Cancelled.
  • When you can cancel: while the project is In queue or In progress. Not while it's In preparation for download: This project cannot be canceled while downloading.
  • If it finishes first, you'll see Processing ended before cancellation was confirmed. The finished result is kept.
  • Credits aren't returned when you cancel. See Refunds.

A project shows Halted

Halted means processing failed. Hover the ⓘ next to the status to see why.

ReasonWhat to do
No faces were found. / No license plates were found. / No texts were found. / No objects were found. The AI found nothing to blur or track. Open the project and add areas by hand with + Add.
Video Category MismatchThe category you chose in VibeEdit doesn't fit the footage. Start again with the category that fits best.
Audio required / Speech not recognizedThe option needs sound or speech in the video. Use a video with audio, or another option.
Unsupported language / Unrecognized languageThe speech is in a language the tool doesn't support. Try English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian or Arabic.
Resolution limit exceededThe video's resolution is too high for this tool. Lower it, or use Video Sharpener, which has no resolution limit.
Resolution mismatchThe files in one project have different resolutions. Use files with the same resolution.
Policy violationThe content goes against the terms of use.
Blocked by the AI safety filterThe AI model refused the request or clip. Describe the change in more neutral words, or use another clip.
YouTube video download error / Cloud video download errorThe source couldn't be downloaded. See Upload problems.
Something went wrong. An error on VIDIO's side. Start the project again once; if it fails again, contact support.

What happens to your credits

  • Most tools charge when you confirm the paid run, so a failed run may already have used credits.
  • Credits for a failed run come back automatically, to your monthly credits, within about a minute of the project showing Halted.
  • Not sure you were refunded? Check Credits in Settings, then send a billing request with the project's name. See Refunds.

When you contact support about a project, include its name as shown on the Projects page, the tool, when you started it, and the reason shown next to Halted. See Contact support.

Download problems

#

Finished results are downloaded from the tool's result page or from Download Output in the project's ⋮ menu on the Projects page. Downloading again is free once a result is paid for. If something goes wrong, find the symptom below.

Download Output is greyed out

  • The project isn't finished. Download Output only works once the status is Work done. While it reads In progress or In preparation for download, wait; the page updates by itself.
  • The project was cancelled or halted. There's no result to download. See Processing problems.
  • You haven't exported yet. Some tools, such as the blurring tools and VibeEdit, finish their analysis first and wait for you to review and export. Open the project with View Project and export from there.

The download is slow or nothing seems to happen

  • The whole file is fetched before your browser saves it. After you click, a spinner (and, for most tools, a percentage) shows while the file comes in; the save dialog or the finished download only appears at the end. Large or long videos can take several minutes.
  • Keep the tab open until the file is saved. Closing the tab, reloading or letting the computer sleep cancels the download; start it again from Download Output.
  • A very large file can fail in a browser that's short on memory. Close other tabs and try again, or try another browser.
  • Check your browser's downloads list. Some browsers save files without asking, so the file may already be in your downloads folder.

The file isn't what you expected

  • It has a watermark. Exports on the free plan carry a small, faint VIDIO logo in the bottom-right corner. A paid plan exports without it; export the project again after upgrading. See Plans compared.
  • It's shorter than your video. The tool processed only the part you selected or its free-preview length, or your video was longer than the tool's run limit. Each tool's section lists its limits.
  • The resolution is lower than your video. Your plan's export resolution caps it: up to 720p on Free for most tools, 1080p on Pro, 4K on Business and Studio where the tool supports it.
  • It's an .xml file. That's VibeEdit's XML timeline for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, not a video. Download the video export separately. See VibeEdit export.
  • It's named vidio-output. Results are named after your file plus -vidio-output, or just vidio-output. Rename it after saving.
  • It won't play. Try another player such as VLC. If it still doesn't play, contact support: a broken result is refunded (see Refunds).

No "ready to download" email

  • The email is only sent for paid exports. Free exports don't send it; check Projects instead.
  • Check the setting. Email me when export is ready to download must be ticked and saved under Notification Preferences in Settings. See Email notifications.
  • Check spam and promotions, and that you're looking at the inbox of the Google account you sign in with.

Can't find the result

  • It's on the Projects page for as long as you keep the project, with no expiry. The list shows 10 per page, newest first.
  • Signed in with another Google account? Projects belong to one account. Sign out and in with the other.
  • Deleted projects can't be restored.

Still stuck? Contact support with the project's name, the tool and your browser.

Contact support

#Open

The VIDIO team answers by email through the contact form. It opens as a window over the page you're on, or as its own page at /forms/contact. You'll also find it under Contact Us in the site footer. You don't need to be signed in, but if you are, your name and email are filled in for you.

Send a message

  1. Open the contact form.
  2. Choose a Topic. The form's title and the hint in the message box change to match.
  3. Check Email. Use the address of your VIDIO account, so the team can find your account and projects. Name is optional.
  4. Write your message (up to 5,000 characters) and click Send.
  5. You'll see Message sent. The reply comes by email to the address you entered.

What to include

The form takes text only, so put the details in the message:

  • The project: its name as shown on Projects, the tool, and roughly when you started it. A link to the project helps; copy it from the address bar after opening it with View Project.
  • What went wrong: what you expected, what happened instead, and the exact error message, for example the reason shown next to Halted.
  • Your file, for upload problems: its format, size and length, and where you imported it from (device, Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube).
  • For billing: your plan, the date and amount of the payment, and what you'd like to change.
  • Your browser and computer, for problems with a page or a download.

How soon you'll hear back

PlanResponse time
ProWithin 3 days
BusinessWithin 24 hours
StudioWithin 12 hours

On the free plan, support isn't part of the plan, but you can still send a message. If you send too many messages in a short time, the form asks you to try again in a few minutes.

Other ways to reach the team

  • Report a problem for a bug. It has fields for the page, what happened and the steps to reproduce it. A report that helps fix an issue earns 15 credits.
  • Send feedback, at the bottom of the left menu, for ideas and requests. Suggestions the team finds useful earn 30 credits.
  • Reply to a VIDIO email, such as the one about a cancelled project, where the email invites you to.
  • AskVIDIO answers questions about tools and plans straight away, and passes ones it can't answer to the team. See AskVIDIO.
